dawson deserves first crack at rematch. lol neither dawson nor hopkins still have any respect for pascal despite him beating the former, and drawing the latter knocking his ass down twice. but a contract is a contract, and when you sign it, you are putting your word out there. and we only got two things in this world, word and balls (sorry for the scarface cliche, but its appropriate here).

If I was Pascal I'd relinquish the WBC title and fight Dawson. Only 1 title matters and that's the Ring Magazine/Lineal title, which Pascal already owns.

If he doesn't fight Dawson he could be sued for a lot of money. He can fight BHop afterwards if he wins the rematch with Dawson.

BHop should fight for the vacant WBC title. He'd beat whoever's put in front of him and become the oldest alphabet titlist in history.

Will Dawson really go for Pascal without is title ? Is HBO offering a lot of $$$ ?

Pascal disapointed me during is fight with Hopkins and I believe that
he would have it easier with an Hopkins re-match. If we can see the real Dawson from round 9-10 and 11, I don't see how Pascal could win.

We'll just have to wait and see what GYM will decide ...

I'm curious what the folks at HBO are gonna do. I mean, Pascal-Hopkins II is a bigger fight than Pacsal-Dawson II. I'm betting that HBO opts to pass on Dawson and tries to milk B-Hop as long as he's relevant.

i think this is a good example of why boxers should have immediate rematch clauses in their contracts for title fights..if pascal had lost the belt to bernard would dawson still be hungry for the rematch, is it the belt he wants back, revenge for his sole loss, or both. im sure its both but had pascal lost the belt i wonder what his take would be.

Dawson would want the lineal title back. Alphabet titles don't mean ****. Plus he'd have to pay sanctioning fees, which means he earns less money.

...i doubt either rematch is a bigger sell than the other....neither dawson or hopkins bring anything to the table even in thier own hometowns, so lets be real pascal is the big dog here as long as he's the champ, the fights are made in canada...they've pretty much spoken and said dawson is next and by right he should be...much respect pascal at least somebody is operating with a code of ethics...

He can't be sued, though, if HBO doesn't put up the amount specified in the terms of the contract. They have to offer x amount, otherwise Pascal/GYM has the option to go elsewhere (like a Hopkins rematch).

HBO really needs to think this one through. IMO, they're better off letting Showtime having Pascal-Hopkins II and instead pushing Dawson towards a fight with Tavoris Cloud. Regardless of who wins Pascal-Hopkins, HBO should be able to outbid Showtime in matching Dawson up against the winner in a far more appealing fight later this year.
