i would take Floyd only because Ray danced around and showboated, and i think he was able to do that to slower fighters like duran and hagler but who has sugar fought that had the reflexes and countering skills like floyd. i know this is an era vs new era argument and that it is hard to determine a clear victor but i think Floyd is that good.

Again, Im not a Floyd apologizer. I get on him about alot of different things but I also think he takes some unwarranted heat. As far as the future and how Floyd wants people to see him, I think he will always be a disliked figure for the most part and will be ranked lower then he should because of it

Guaranteed Ali or SRR never ever said anything like I hate boxing lol cuz they loved it,that's one of the main reasons fighters get to b the best, cuz they love what they do! Floyd DOESN'T!!
Well character, class, etc. have more to do with a fighters personality and we're not talking about personlity we're talking about skill sets. And just because Ali and SRR didnt disrespect the sport doesnt have anything to do with the argument of who wins a fight between SRL and FMJr.
But anywho its really hard to say who wins this fight because Leonard at welterweight was younger and taller. Floyd didnt hit welterweight til he was damn near 30 so its an unfair comparison. 33 year old May likely beats 33 year old Leonard though.

This is a lot harder to judge than "old school" boxing purists care to admit. There's a reason the bulk of Floyd's fights start looking the same after 4 rounds. His adjustments during fights are ballyhooed to the point that people just say it without actually witnessing it. Watching him stand in front of professional fighters, champions even, and render them helpless is a joy to watch. His skill set goes beyond the blanket statement of "making adjustments". He changes the level of attack as well as the level of defense, he controls distance, pinpoint accuracy on his punches with both hands upstairs or downstairs, controls the pace, give angles to give himself an advantage on offense and at the same time doesn't leave himself vulnerable on defense, etc. I think there are physical advantages that would give SRL as good a chance as anyone to beat Floyd, but I wouldn't dismiss it as easy in no way, shape, or form.

Floyd is one of the most skilled and cerebral boxers of all time. Not saying Leonard isn't skilled himself, it's just that I feel Floyd is a much better fighter, and it would show if they ever faced off.
FWIW I have both Duran and Tommy Hearns beating Floyd.

IMO, Leonard in this era in his prime would be a fight Mayweather I believe would balk at taking right away (if at all).

SRL has true grit. Wifebeater is a coward.
SRL will beat wifebeater based on heart.
I don't even think wifebeater would sign to fight SRL.

In relation to Leonard not fighting guys with "reflexes or countering skills", how many prime Welterweights has Floyd been in there with who has power, footwork, speed, and an array of combination punching all in tact? The closest to that by a looonnggggg stretch was Mosley, and I'm helping him out by mentioning him and Leonard in the same sentence. Styles do make fights, but I'm not sold on Mayweather beating Leonard on counters and defense alone.
