Well character, class, etc. have more to do with a fighters personality and we're not talking about personlity we're talking about skill sets. And just because Ali and SRR didnt disrespect the sport doesnt have anything to do with the argument of who wins a fight between SRL and FMJr.

But anywho its really hard to say who wins this fight because Leonard at welterweight was younger and taller. Floyd didnt hit welterweight til he was damn near 30 so its an unfair comparison. 33 year old May likely beats 33 year old Leonard though.

No offence but those guys wanted to fight,that's what they did,they took on the best competition at their time and rose to the occasion,THAT is what makes them great,they weren't scared to be in a dog fight! Floyd fights so defensively cuz he is,he don't like to know he's in a real fight,and that's his personality! I'm not saying that this pertains to the outcome of this fantasy fight cuz it may or may not,but it does pertain to his level of greatness. You can be a peoples champ or you can be a pay me champ lol And just becuz i don't like Floyds persona doesn't mean i take his skills in the ring lightly,i realise everything he's good at but i simply think it's just not enough for a SRL but i don't think it would be a blow out,i think both guys frustrate each other at times in this 15 round fight but SRL takes a decision by outhustling and maybe hurting Floyd late in the fight with one of those flurries! All you mayweather fans who think this is absurd should rewatch the De La Hoya fight and remember this isn't an old Oscar i'm talking bout but a prime Sugar Ray! :P

Ive talked about this so many times. These threads are just bait threads and people dont even realize how unfair they are just because they hate Floyd. This thread sounds like something Manny Steward and other guys talk about when its not a fair comparison. People always compare Floyd to guys like SRL & Hearns but you can always tell that they are speaking of WW. If you want to compare them then fine but do it in a P4P sense.

Until the JMM fight, Floyd was always a small WW who probably didnt even belong there and never came into the ring over 148 pounds. Meanwhile SRL & Hearns were in there 1st weight class and huge WW's. If you want to make a real comparison then do a WW SRL & Hearns vs a SFW Mayweahter who was also in his 4th weight class. If you do it that way then Floyd easily holds his own. SRL isnt alot faster then as you say. Thats how you compare guys. Do you think Floyd wouldnt have fought anyone at SFW?

Even if you talk about them moving up, Floyd has looked way better at the higher weights then those guys have for the most part. You just have to be fair. You cant ask about a guy in his most prime weight vs a guy at his worst weight. Its about P4P if they arent naturally the same size or dont look the same at the other weights. Floyd isnt super fast and throwing combos like he did at SFW. You can knock Floyd all you want but you cant argue that he's by far one of the most complete fighters to ever come around

The fact that we're comparing one of the best welterweights of all time in his first weightclass, to one of the best SFW's of all time in his fourth weightclass is a massive and deserving compliment to Floyd.
