It's sad but reality. If it were Floyd being expected of cheating there would be a federal investigation going on. How could a man with Floyd's accomplishments not be celebrated? I agree he doesn't always help his case but damn this is madness. Floyd beats JMM he was too small, Shane was old, I guess a Martinez win would be some BS and so would a Pac win. Pure BS!!!!
Lol dude I knew you were gonna pull that card, that's exactly why I asked you the question. Everyone loved SRL, Ali and even Tyson who has had his troubles. Those guys were charismatic, intelligent, charming with the ability to win people over. Floyd is a walking stereotype who takes black people back 100 years, a minstrel show. Newsflash it's not cuz he's black, it's because he's an ******. Nobody likes arrogant d*cks, unless they themselves are arrogant d*cks...just sayin.

And that JMM fight was pure bull**** and you know it. It's the same thing if Pac fought him at 147...bull****.

He beats an older version of Mosley and let's be honest, Mosley was beaten fairly easily by Forrest and Winky before, so it isn't like Mayweather blazed some new trail. You guys over-hype his resume at 147, it's weak plain and simple. The guy refuses to fight anyone who has a legit shot of beating him, whoever that may be.

Switch, if you've really been paying attention PBF called Shane out many times over the years on nation wide tv and Shane blatantly turned him down just like he called out Cotto and Hatton. It takes 2 to make a fight. It took Mosley needing Floyd to make that fight. Floyd NEVER ducked Shane. I saw both Forrest fights and neither was easy for Vernon. He won but they threw down in both fights. I'm a HUGE Mosley fan. There's no need to overhype PBF dude's resume speaks volumes. PBF, Marquez and Manny all are smallish fighters that fight at 147-150 on fight night. There's not much of a weight difference between the 3. Unfortunately there's not enough fighters to make you great fighting at 147. Good but not great. After seeing Hagler vs Hearns live as a young buck I'm not impressed by most of the guys fighting today. Don't get caught up in the name game Manny is playing. He's only fighting big names past their primes and coming off very tough losses. If PBF comes back and doesn't aim for Martinez I would lose some respect for him as a fighter.

It would be nice to see Floyd return but only for significant bouts. If not, what difference does it make? The sport did just fine without him in 2008.

Cool fair enough, though Vernon won those fights fairly easy.

SRL stayed clean and knew how to play the game. How did they love Ali when they suspended him from boxing in the prime of his career? How did they love Tyson when they sent him to jail for having consensual sex with a groupie? Floyd is a bit hood and leaves himself open for BS but what does that have to do what his accomplishments in the ring? If you were unbeaten and after every fight commentators came at you with "yeah that was ok but you have to beat this guy or that guy to impress me" I'm sure you would develope a chip on your shoulders too. AA fighters fought through racial tension from day one that only they understand and they still do. Not as bad as before but they still do. Pavlik is fighting alcoholism. Do you think he'll be welcomed back or demeaned as a drunk? Now put a AA face on Pavlik and answer that question. Larry Holmes was abused when he was closing in on Marciano's record so was Hank Aaron in his case and there are many other stories like that.

                Wife Beater

Some of you guys with your reference to Mayweather as "WifeBeater" first off...you dont know what happend with his "wife" But i guess it's real original and comical. especially since if you've been reading this forum for more than a week you'll know everyone and they're unborn children are saying the same things. Guys I know Flloyd isn't your Favorite, but when you insult him..Be original!! Jesus, the wifebeater this isn't funny...like the Pac vs. Wifebeater sure would be great..lmao hardy har har...really nailed it on the head!

Plus Floyd brings a lot to boxing. Like the fact that whoever faces him, is automatically the fan favorite. Just like the last fight, most people will pay for the chance of him losing.

Look with respect to certain things you've said, I agree with you. But in a larger sense he brings this type of treatment on himself. He marginalizes himself strictly to the black community, then shouts "racism", when no outside of that community understands him. You realize acting "hood" and "gangster" is seen as borderline ******ed by people who have an education right? Am I wrong for thinking that someone who carries themselves that way is a douchebag of the highest order? I have a ton of black friends most of whom are lawyers and doctors and even they think Floyd sets the bar low for the culture. My only point is that if someone wants to shout racism...hey it's all good, but look in the mirror and maybe realize you're an a$$hole first and foremost and that's why people are wary of you.

In regards to Pavlik you may be right, or not. Myself personally I'd root for a comeback story regardless of race. I loved Jermaine Taylor. I want Paul Williams to come back and be successful again. I don't think all people view things through a prism of race. We just see people we could relate to.

Actually America has made reputed thugs into celebrities. Most people point to The Godfather or The Sopranos as their all time favorites, ever wonder why? The Capone's, The Gotti's,etc. Floyd represents himself not AA. Life is about individuality and self accountability. Does Sarah Palin or George Bush represent all whites? No and they shouldn't neither should Floyd. I personally think being street smart is more important than being educated and I'm educated. Yes Floyd is a jerk sometimes and not the most articulate or classy dude in the world but if the same kinda guy was white and 41-0 and as accomplished would it matter? History says it wouldn't.

It doesn't matter what community a person marginalizes themselves with racism is racism. I don't have any friends other than black people but does that mean people of other races should be racist towards me? The funniest part of this **** a lot of yall say proves some of yall speak on **** yall don't know because PBF does nothing that is "hood" or "gangster". Flashing money and talking **** ain't "hood" or "gangster" you know why cause people from all races and backgrounds do it. May not be all done the same way but they all do it. Most educated people and uneducated people know that one person doesn't set the bar for any culture. I agree some of the stuff he does he does bring that on himself no doubt about it. But I asked this in another thread I will ask you the same. Name me just ONE trash talking, flamboyant, arrogant rich black man that white america has ever embraced and loved?

I am a big PBF and don't agree with everything he does just can't do it cause dude does some things that are just flat out wrong.
