Hang on a minute.. Benn, Eubank, Watson and Wharton were the golden era of British middleweights/super-middleweights, and beating 35-0 Rocky in Berlin is not very impressive? Lol!

British champions are inferior to champions from Mexico, U.S.A., and even general asia for that matter.

                Its like this.

When Lacy Knocks JC out.....that wont impress me. Him beating Rubin "Hollywood" Williams and Syd Vanderpool is fifty times more impressive than Reid and Calzone.

All I will say is that its a damn sight better than the resumes of Calzaghe and Hopkins. Malinga and Thornton were at their best in 92,although they went the distance with Eubank whereas Roy Jones stopped them yrs later. Id say Roy Jones was better than Eubank, but only Roy Jones. Lindell Holmes for example was better than Charles Brewer, much better. And we all know that the "big three" were Benn,Eubank,Watson and Eubank boasts a record of 3-0-1 from the big three. I dont even think you should mention William Joppy or Howard Eastman in the same breath as Benn,Eubank,Watson they were not in that class,I mean Eastman has said that his idols were Benn,Eubank,Watson and has said that he wouldnt put himself in that bracket.

Watching Eubanks awesome powerful counterpunch on John Jarvis, the win over the German in Germany, and that memorable firstclass display against Wharton at the G-Mex and you forget what a fantastic fighter he was.For all his pompous flaws, and yes he was frustrating at times, but at other times he was wonderful to watch. I remember when he was coming through the ranks, the rise of Eubanks was shown on an ITV special before his fight with Dos Santos and featured from his firstround knockout of Darren Parker in front a crowd of 83 people right upto his win over Milo in front of a soldout screaming Brighton crowd, his points wins over durable journeymen Franki Moro and Randy Smith were poetry in motion, and then his six straight knockouts were bombastic and earned him a shot at the WBC international title, then a title shot at Benn was his reward for 19 wins with 14 stoppages inside of 2 and a half yrs. And we all know about Mr Eubanks particular bravado lol.
