His workrate was prtty high for Pavlik and Pascal IMO. He threw more in those fights than Calzaghe as a guess.

Hopkins stays in shape for his age, deserves some credit
but active fighter will make him act his age
he didn't work much against Joe since Joe flurried a lot

Easy answer is that Calzaghe makes everyone look bad.

Bika, Hopkins and Kessler all looked bad.....

calzaghe is an atg that throws 100 lighting fast punches a round and applies constant pressue..that style will make anyone look bad..expecially an aging fighter..common sense

This is pretty much it; Pascal is overrated. Pascal victory over Dawson was a fluke. Pascal beat a distracted Dawson. The rematch will show that when Dawson fights Pascal and wins. An Old Hopkins is better than Pascal; Hopkins is a far better technical fighter than Pascal.

To continue the point above, Hopkins avoided fighters that are active and technical...that is why he never fought Dawson...too much risk no reward. Whereas a Calzaghe brings more reward with the risk. Hopkins paid for that.
