I dunno to me it's on a fight to fight basis. He looked old against Ornelas and Jones Jr. to me.

Great question that was brought up to me by a certain fighter, who faced Hopkins in his last couple fights, cornerman.
He said that he believed Hopkins did take something for his fight against his fighter and mentioned (not me implying this) that Freddie Roach and ****m Richardson both had connections with boxers that were accused or caught with P.E.D.'s. (Toney, Pacquaio, Hopkins, Mosley, etc)
Hell, Maidiana's trainer openly confronted Alex Ariza after the Khan/Maidana fight calling him a cheat.
Who knows really? But some performances have been a little fishy. I hope all these allegations are not true because boxing already has a big enough black eye.

hopkins still won that fight easily even though he did fade down the stretch. hopkins dominated the first 8 rounds. in the 10th calzaghe low blowed him and he did the smart thing and took time to recover and easily won the round. i guess this rubbed people the wrong way and they forgot what happened in the first 8 rounds.
the main reasons he got tired is because of calzaghe's pressure and work rate and cortez not letting hopkins fight inside to slow the pace. many times calzaghe would have one of hopkins arms locked(i thought only hopkins held hmmm) and hopkins would have the other hand free punching calzaghe and cortez would break them for no good reason. hopkins would be punching him and calzaghe would look at cortez for help with a confused look on his face. pathetic. this allowed calzaghe to reset and get off more of his slappy air punches. calzaghe can't fight inside at all and cortez can't referee at all.Last edited by daggum; 12-29-2010, 07:40 PM.
