  • EXACTO! I posted the same thing a few days ago. ARUM knows this. MANNY doesn't care who he fights. He is a true warrior and will fight anybody. It is ARUM who is being the typical rich promoter here. He doesn't care about MANNY, just how much cash MANNY can bring in for him. MANNY likes the possibility of fighting BERTO. BERTO can beat MANNY. It's a toss up fight. MANNY is my favorite fighter but I call it like I see it man. BERTO will be a much harder fight for him, not MOSLEY. He has the tools and seems to be improving. He is young and hungry for the spot light. His speed, power, and natural thickness at the weight would be a problem for MANNY who is really 140 pounder. AND BERTO has a really good chin too. So, all these idiots talking smack about how he hasn't fought anybody, I DISAGREE. He's been brought up fighting hard fights against skilled guys, not to mention his deep amateur background. So, he's ready for the chance to be great, TRUST ME.

lol, I know you know that I know you knew I was joking, ya know?

Man, wasn't Berto being criticized because he was being paid too much by HBO?

Another words, he's been all over HBO's ballz, he's there golden child (at the moment).... anyone that watches Boxing knows who Berto is. Nobody knew who Clottey was. Nobody STILL knows who Clottey is/was....

Wait who are we talking about again?

You put Berto the undefeated WBC Champion name next to Pac and do a few interviews with him "saving" his country and talk about being the WBC Champ and being undefeated a few times and talk about how Pac's been fighting this guy or that guy. Maybe throw a link of Berto's greatest moments clip on the site. Throw an insult (Mayweather style) or two out there for the media to twist and it becomes a fight people will buy.

Pac still beats him! lol With Mosley its the same Bernard Hopkins story all over again. Can he turn back the clock. Will he over come his age? Will experience defeat youth etc etc etc.

No. Arum would not put PAC in the ring with Martinez at this moment.

Around 1974 he put Jose Napoles a WW fighter of his against the then MW champ of the world Carlos Monzon. Till this day he regrets that descision as when fight night came there was a huge size difference and Arum felt that was the difference in the fight. Personal I dont recall seeing the fight but from what I heard it was pretty lopsided.

This is why after manny beat Oscar, and people wanted PAC vs Margarito he said there is no chance in hell that fight happens. It was only after that brutal KO of Ricky Hatton that Arum entertained the though of Manny vs WW's. It's also the reason that while he was gonna pit Cotto vs Manny together it was made at a catchweight.

The thing though is Manny keeps proving he can not only compete with these huge WW's, but completely annihilate them.

Manny is gonna slaughter Mosley and I'm willing to bet my membership that Manny beats Floyd. Once that happen then the only fight that makes sense would be Martinez. I see Khan cleaning up 140 so I doubt those guys are options. Lastly I see Martinez facing Cotto vs Margarito and not looking as dominate.....luring top rank and team Pacquiao into taking this fight.

            • As far as Floyd bs Martinez I don't see that happening for the simple fact that Floyd can make more money facing Manny, Khan, or Cotto.

I see Floyd facing Manny in November and regardless of the outcome...him facing Khan in the UK. If Khan beats Bradley, which I'm sur he will, a fight with Floyd would be huge.

Sergio is too high risk low reward, and I can't see Floyd taking this fight if bigger fights, money wise, are still on the table.

BTW with Mosley I'm not 100% sure he gave Arum rights on his next fight but due to me knowing how Arum roles and the nature of the business side of boxing....I'm pretty confident that's whats happening. Like I mentioned earlier, if Shane fights under the top rank banner next....that pretty much confirms that's what happened when he signed to fight Manny.

              • More Arum BS but something is abudantly clear, Lou Dibella has failed and done a terrible job as Berto's promoter. Most casual fans have no clue who the guy is.

                • Berto doesn't have what it take to beat Manny. It would be a more competitive fight due to his youth, speed, and power, but he's too fundamentally flawed to beat Manny.

1974, that was before my time!

I think if Pac beats Mayweather that's the end of the road for him. I don't see it happening. I also cant see Pac beating a technical fighter like Floyd but I won't even get into that until they "agree" to actually fight. I also think Martinez would totally destroy Margarito and Cotto. I think he does so in the fashion that turns Arum away from putting him in with Pac. But like I said, I think win or lose Pac retires after Mayweather.

In the meantime you think Floyd comes back and fights Berto? If so does he deserve credit when he technically clowns him?

As for Khan, I still haven't got my mind made up on him. I think him, Bradley, Alexander and JMM at JWW would be all good fights. Khan gets totally dominated by Floyd. I would be surprised if he KO's Khan late. Sets him up all night and finish him like Hatton. Again, I don't have my mind made on on him. I see nothing that from him that says he even beats Bradley at this point.

                    • Berto will NEVER get a fight with Manny, so, there is nothing to see here. Move on people.
