It all depends on what he brings to the table. Boxing is business, it is a sport but it is still big business. You get your share of the pie depending on your contribution to the business.
It is not what fights you won, and how you won them… it is how big an attraction you are. We can all shout here our praises for jmm’s accomplishments but the bottom line will always be “what you can contribute to the fight as a business.”
Floyd does not have a title right now, but will he still get a big chunk of the pie if he fights a boxing titlist other than pac? The answer here is obvious. So for those saying JMM should get a big pay than Mosley are missing the point.
He not only demanded 5M guarantee but also $5 per PPV above 500,000ppv. He is acting as if he is the main attraction. I also believe sharing is the least of his problem when it comes to Pacquiao rematch.
Granting that jmm lowers his demands, will he get the rematch?
As I have been saying all along, jmm blew his chance for a payday when he taunted and insulted pac. His unclassy approach to get the rematch has actually made it farther and farther from happening.
If you are the champ and the main attraction, would you give the man who insulted you a payday?
I don't agree with the Pac/Mosley fight but I can't help but notice how Mosley and Berto avoids personal attacks to get their payday with pacquiao. Those are classy approaches.

Thats a very good point you made man , in my eyes i believe that Juan Manuel Marquez does deserve the 5 million dollar payday. But the problem was i guess maybe he over priced himself out of a 3rd superfight with Manny Pacquiao and that what led to this out dated Shane Mosley fight.Hopefully Marquez and Pacquiao will eventually settle their differences inside the ring instead of some financial demands getting in the way of a fight that would most likely be way more meaningful and comptetive than the upcoming Mosley vs Pacquaio matchup.
yeah but how much more is gonna go to arum because the $5 million is going to mosley instead of marquez?
that's all arum gives a **** about.
he got mosley signed up for another bout too (probably cotto or marg)
Has to be Margo. No matter what happens, a Cotto rematch would be pointless at this time. Cotto already beat him years ago, so a win over a version of him who just got punched around the ring by both Pac and Floyd won't do much. He has bigger fish to fry like Martinez, Chavez Jr, Cintron, Martirosyan, Lara, etc. At least with Margo there's two possible scenario's where it makes sense.
1. If Margo gets by Cotto again, he proves that he still has it and he can go on to attempt to avenge his loss to Mosley.
2. If Margo loses to Cotto, there could still be a battle of the losers since we all know Mosley is gonna lose to Pac.

hard for jmm to compete with mosley.
if jmm said $4 mil. , mosley would just say $4 mil. too and get the fight.
mosley is a free agent so arum is pretty much promoting him for this fight as well.
plus there's the whole gbp thing going against jmm.
gbp might have agreed to step away from co-promotion of pac-jmm 3 but it's not like they were stepping away from the money.
jmm is still a gbp fighter and gbp still gets a bigger cut from a pac vs. gbp fighter than their cut from pac vs. non-gbp.
