Joe Rogan is a damn idiot last time I checked you couldn't elbow, knee, or stomp a fighter out when he is down in the UFC. You can't punch to the back of the head or grab the tights both which are ok in the street. Both are sports and not fighting. But when it comes to fighting for real the guy who has better hands in the street usually wins. Nobody goes for a take down on the street unless they are getting their ass beat standing up.Comment

Boxing is a sport and art of pugilism but it is not limited to a punching sport. This discipline is usage of body mechanics, footwork, evasion maneuvering, angles, and distance.
It is akin to fencing as a sport wherein it is a disciplined sport. Baseball is another. Soccer too...
The fact that the art and science of boxing is creative use of punching is a start but cunning/strategizing together with physical conditioning, strength, speed, quickness are the other half.Comment

You know, if I wanted to fight someone, I'd line my fist to his face, not wrap my legs around his neck.Comment

If tonight some guy comes at me, and we exchange punches only, I'm damn well telling it as was we fought. Wouldn't you? Or do we need to wrestle around for half the time for it to count as a fight?Comment
