Boxing: Sport of Fighting or Sport of Punching?

The Bert Sugar of MMA, historian Joe Rogan blasted boxing saying it wasnt a sport of fighting, that is was just a sport of punching

    Do U Agree???

He explains boxing wouldnt be effective in a real street fight, that MMA is more effective since it is as real as it gets

UFC is no doubt more effective in life or death fights. Boxing is more a sport, boxing can go 15 rounds, in a real fight like MMA, they barly go 3 rounds.

95% of all the MMA knockouts are done by hands.

Boxing is a sport, not just a fight. It probably is better to be able to wrestle, kick and punch in a street fight than be able to box, but that doesn't matter. I'm not interested in a street fighting PPV.

There is more to street fighting than both MMA and Boxing, as for which one is more effective in the streets, to me...that all depends on where your from. So really he's being ignorant.

Disagree, it's not just about punching, let's call it the "Sport of Boxing" eh.

It's not a street fight and it's more then just punching as it includes, defense, footwork, technicalities etc etc, it's not called the Sweet Science for nothing "Sport of Punching" is a bit shallow.

People should stop trying to compare boxing to MMA, they're completely different sports.

"Bert Sugar" of MMA ?, you mean MMA have got one of these things as well ?, feel sorry for them, one is enough.
