ok, so defying the odds and doing things only done once or twice before should probably not count towards one's greatness, is that correct?

and pascal, jocal, pavlik (at the time) etc are not mediocre fighters.

bhop was also underdog below his 40s.

odds are odds, they mean the favorite should win, oddsmakers are much smarter than the average boxingscene poster. or you'd be making odds and getting rich.

YES...Please list all the fighters Mayweather has supposly ducked...and please don't start off with Margarito...because I would think by now us real boxing fans would know the true story...but just in case you don't, let me refresh your memory...Top Rank, (where Floyd just left), was offered to fight Margarito for 8 Million...at the same time he was offered 8,000,001 dollars...thats RIGHT, 1 dollar more to fight UNDISPUTED WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD Carlos Baldmire...who just beat Zab Judah and Gotti...

So your list please...I'm sure you have at least 5 or 6...Right!
      ^^^^^ total garbage post.

FACT: you don't know what you're talking about it's all heresay.

FACT: Floyd never got in the ring with the consensus best fighter or two in 140, 147, 154. Even someone whom boxing insiders thought would be a tough fight for him, until maybe Shane. What was JMM ranked at WW when Floyd fought him? How about Sharmba at 140? Chop Chop?

FACT: Quite a few other WW's and JWW's did fight each other in the time period when Floyd was in those divisions.

Who is Floyd's best win at 140-147 before he retired before Shane?
      Zab Judah right?
How many other guys beat Zab at 147?
      Or was it Hatton?
Hatton who went life and death with Collazo at 147?

This isn't even touching on Stevie Johnson, Casamayor, and Spaddy.

            touche.

after all the times bhop has burned oddsmakers, you'd think they would have adjusted.

                  bojangles,

manny's been picking and choosing, he hasn't fought anywhere near the amount of fighters with different styles and sizes that bhop has. it's not even close.

while manny's win and draw over jmm and his barrera and revenge against morales are VERY impressive, I thikn bhop has the better overal resume AT THIS TIME. Manny certainly has plenty of time to change that IMO. I'm really not trying to shi t on manny's resume because I think he's close to atg status, but bhop is definitely atg status.

no clear losses either, I might add. every l he has maybe since roy is most certainly arguable at least.
There is no argument about Manny being an ATG, he is clearly an ATG. Manny's best wins are better than Hopkins's best wins, especially when you take everything into consideration. Hopkins may have fought more styles, but those fighters for the most part aren't in the ballpark with the fighters Manny has fought. Pavlik isn't as good as a Barrera, Marquez, or Cotto. Neither are Tarver, Pascal, or Oscar at 160. Wins that Pac gets absolutely shredded and given little credit for, like Clottey, Hatton, Morales, and Margarito, are every bit as most the guys Hopkins feasted on pre-Trinidad.

Really, the longevity and his reign at middleweight, which is slightly overrated to me, are the only argument for Hopkins here IMO. Guess we aren't reaching a common ground on this argument Walt.

When Pacquaio face floyd you will see why he has been fighting the brawling type for the past few years.
