it only proves one thing, that guys like Jones dont come around to often. One belt or ten no one has done it in a long time. Now we got 2 guys that started at 160 and winning heavyweight titles each with a different style of fighting also.
Roy Jones didn't make history! Bob Fitsimmonz record remains unbroken!

Billy Conn, who fought JOE LOUIS, greatest heavyweight champion of the world....almost beat Joe Louis...but if he had the same chance Jone had to fight terrible HW like Ruiz...
then this record would've been broken at least 60 years ago...
Ironically Toney and Jones both brok the record in less than 2 years apart
Jones fought a paper champion in Ruiz...Comment

Keep in mind that the quality of fighters is changed and Lennonx Lewis is a great heavyweight champ. He might not be one of the pound 4 pound greatest heavyweights ever, but he was huge. Marciano might've been 3x as skilled as Lennox, but he'd still lose to him if they fought because Lennox could smother him. Jones would've lost to Lewis, Bobby would have to. What heavyweight champ did he beat, anyway?
Also, Conn was also a good Light Heavyweight.Comment

what fitz did was amazing.
what rjj did is also amazing
dont discredit rjj, ruiz is a good figter, he beat rahman, holyfield (very good/great fighters), and oquendo and golota, (quality competition)
just becuase you dont like rjj, doesnt mean he didnt accomplish a great featComment

If this was in the olden days, Jones would have had to fight Lewis not Ruiz...
Until he defeats Lewis, Bobs record is still unbroken in my books..Comment
