    ESPN Dan Rafael's 140 division ranking [Dec. 14th, 2010]

    1. Timothy Bradley Jr. (26-0)

In the first big fight of 2011, Bradley and fellow titleholder Devon Alexander will square off for 140-pound supremacy in a much-anticipated fight. And after two months of searching for a site, the fight finally has a home: The Silverdome in Pontiac, Mich.
    Next: Jan. 29 vs. Alexander.

    2. Devon Alexander (21-0)

Alexander wasn't lights-out the way he had been in his previous two title bouts (against Juan Urango and Junior Witter), but he came home to St. Louis on Aug. 7, drew close to 10,000 fans and did enough to barely get by tough former titlist Andriy Kotelnik in a good fight. Now bring on Bradley.
    Next: Jan. 29 vs. Bradley.

    3. Amir Khan (24-1)

Khan showed enormous heart, poise and skills to get through a brutally hard, close fight to win a decision against power-punching Marcos Maidana in a serious fight of the year candidate Dec. 11. Khan retained his title and left all of us wondering how in the world the kid got through that 10th round. Well done.
    Next: TBA.

    4. Marcos Maidana (29-2)

Argentina's big-punching Maidana survived a first-round knockdown on a digging left to the liver from Khan, clawing his way back into what turned out to be a memorable and pitched battle. Although Maidana came out on the losing end of the tight decision Dec. 11, his stock rose in defeat.
    Next: TBA.

    5. Zab Judah (40-6)

The former two-time junior welterweight titlist and former undisputed welterweight champ struggled to a debatable split decision against Lucas Matthysse in a Nov. 6 title eliminator on HBO. Judah survived a knockdown and showed heart, but he didn't show the other top contenders that they would have anything to fear by facing him. He has been mentioned as a possible next opponent for Khan.
    Next: TBA.

    6. Andriy Kotelnik (31-4-1)

Kotelnik might not have gotten the decision on the scorecards in his highly competitive unanimous-decision loss to Alexander on Aug. 7, but he fought very well and his stock rose in defeat. Kotelnik was offered an HBO fight against Victor Ortiz on the Khan-Maidana undercard, but he turned it down because he was unhappy with the money and is considering moving up in weight.
    Next: TBA.

    7. Victor Ortiz (28-2-2)

On Dec. 11, Ortiz scored two knockdowns against Lamont Peterson in the third round and seemed to win, but he was saddled with a draw in their HBO fight. Still, there seemed to be some fire missing from Ortiz's performance.
    Next: TBA.

    8. Lamont Peterson (28-1-1)

Peterson was down twice in the third round against Ortiz in their Dec. 11 clash, but he kept his composure and fought his way back into the fight to earn a draw.
    Next: TBA.

    9. Juan Urango (22-3-1)

Urango lost his belt when Alexander knocked him out in the eighth round March 6. An expected return against former lightweight titlist Julio Diaz on Aug. 28 on ESPN2 was scrapped when Urango changed his mind.
    Next: TBA.

    10. Paulie Malignaggi (27-4)

After a lopsided 11th-round TKO loss to Khan in May, former titlist Malignaggi split with promoter Lou DiBella and signed with Golden Boy. He's moving up to welterweight and will make his debut in the weight class against Michael Lozada (36-6-1) on the Jean Pascal-Bernard Hopkins undercard in Quebec City.
    Next: Dec. 18 vs. Lozada.

How can he have Devon Alexander as #2? IMO Amir was already #2 before he beat Maidana. Now that he beat Maidana, Amir should be #2.

And at Zab Judah. Just . Fat Dan is kind of a joke, isn't he?

    Absolute BS.

Khan is above alexander for sure. Kotelnik should be higher than 6 after his fights with Maidana and Alexander. And Judah should just retire. I've had enough of his overhyped heartless ass getting big fight after big fight despite him not having accomplished much and being beaten by BALDOMIR!?

Amir Khan should be #1 he has a better resume than Bradley and Alexander...Ortiz shouldn't be on that list he's no longer a JWW he's a full WW...what is urango and malignaggi still doing there to along with Koltelnik who will campaign at 147?

Khans resume is way better than Alexanders. Khan should be 2nd.

Crap list of course. But what do you expect from this guy?

Replace Judah with Mathysse since Mathysse kicked his ass.

Zab Judah's position was a nice laugh, but Alexander will be below Amir once he loses to Bradley----at least according to Dan's list. I still have Amir #2 to Bradley.

Other than having Judah that high, his rankings are ok!!I'd like someone to explain to me how Khan has a better resume than Bradley or Alexander, though!!Maidana is the only really credible name on his resume!!Devon did have a tough night against Kotelnik, but he fought harder!!I think the fight was a draw, but 1 bad night doesn't make khan better than him, sorry!!

Devon Alexander "did enough to barely get by" as in losing nine(eight in the very least) rounds out of twelve against Kotelnik.

Devon Alexander has absolutely no argument for being ranked above Amir Khan - the man who came close to pitching a shutout over Alexanders superior,Kotelnik.
