Amir should have gone to Manny Steward IMO.

He has trained tall fighters with fantastic jabs and weak chins before befor like Hearns and Lewis. And he is now training another fighter with a weak chin and a great jab in Wlad Klitschko.

He would do wonders for Amir.

Roger Sr is a terrible trainer. He doesnt understand boxing the way a trainer should.

I think he made the right choice due to having Ariza handle his strength and conditioning. The footwork drills have also done wonders for Amir as well as the amount of competition at the wildcard gym.

Roger and/or Sr. might be able to improve Amir's technical defense, but they'd never be able to give a comprehensive game plan like Roach can.

Roach is the best trainer in the game at studying other fighter's strengths and weaknesses.

The reason why Floyd did so well with them was because he is so technically gifted and his boxing IQ is so high he can make his own game plan on the fly.
