If Floyd Mayweather came out tomorrow and announced he was fighting Anthony Mudine, he would probably enter the ring at least at 17 lb disadvantage. But considering that Mudine was KTFO in his last fight, I doubt people would give him credit for taking on a legitimate challenge. The same dynamic applied with Pacquaio-Margarito. Yes, Margarito was bigger. But Margarito was coming off a brutal KO loss to a fighter nowhere near Pac's league. His size was irrelevant.

Floyd could fight May 2011!! He had legal troubles before with the same woman back in 2004-05 and he fought 3 times during that period!! Manny just fought a grueling battle recently, so Floyd would be the fresher fighter come May! So there really is NO REASON for Floyd to not take the fight!!

The theory of Floyd waiting for Manny's offensive skills to slow down is probably right. The defensive boxer always has the advantage when it comes to age. Tyson vs. Lewis is a perfect example. Lewis is older than Tyson. Leonard vs. Hagler. Tyson vs. Holyfield. Ali vs. Frazier 2 &3. It's a sound theory!

Mayweather could be waiting for Pac to age. But, I have a hard time believing this because fo the little fact that Mayweather is older. And add to that that even though I consider both a little in decline now, Pac is closer to what he was in his physical prime than Mayweather. So I just don't see where this makes any sense.
