Comments Thread For: Roach: Mosley The Best Choice, Floyd Jr. Playing Games

Trainer Freddie Roach, who supports Top Rank promoter Bob Arum’s contention that Shane Mosley is the best fight available for pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao in the absence of Floyd Mayweather Jr, says Pacquiao “has a couple of years left in him, easily.” Pacquiao-Mosley will happen on May 7 in Las Vegas.

    man, **** this ****.

Manny is in his prime years right now. He got 2 or 3 more fights left at this level so why waste time by fighting a washed up non-slick fighter?

Manny should fight Berto or Bradley at 147 or JMM at 140.

This thread will get a ton of replies, but this is all that really needs to be said.

HAHAHA The Joke Coach is at it again!!.

Hey Freddie remember this quote in 2009...

        Source LA Times

"Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny," Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter."

        speaking about Mayweather vs Mosley
        Source LA Times

"I like Mayweather to win," Roach said. "I do hope Shane finds a way; he's my friend, but he has trouble with speed and the movement he'll get from Mayweather, so I think Floyd will win a decision."

Hey Team Pac & Top Rank!! If their wasnt enough $$money$$ after Mosley knocked out Margarito, how is their enough $$money$$ NOW after Shane got dominated vs Mayweathwer and had a terrible ugly draw vs Mora?

Ooooohhh thats right, NOW you see Shane isnt a risk anymore after Mayweather proved you otherwise. Remember when you were on ESPN with Brian Kenny blasting Mayweather for being afraid of Mosley?

Roach do you remember when you said this?...In regards to fighting Shane Mosley after he knocked out Margarito? When you asked him to fight at a CATCHHWEIGHT of 142lbs?

“I have to protect my fighter. I spoke to Shane and told him that we would fight him at 142. He said he can’t make that weight,” Roach said from his Wild Card Gym in LA.

Mosley, according to The Sweet Science, “asked why not 147 as was set for De La Hoya at 147?”
and Roach answered by saying, “Mosley is not De La Hoya in terms of setting a weight handicap.”

Roach stop feeding Pac Mayweathers leftovers!!

isn't that why he said mosley is the best available?

berto is undefeated and whatnot, but he's not better than mosley, even now

when pac and berto do fight, it'll be a 1st round ko most likely

there's no one out there for pac but mayweather, and i hope he gets his sht straightened for a fight with pac in 2011
so we dont have to get fights like this anymore
