Merchant probably got tired of all the incessant Khan flirting Lampley was doing. I remember an exchange where Lampley called all the Khan shots and Roy had to intervene with "nice jab landed in their by MAidana too". you would have thought Maidana landed his first punch in the 10th almost listening to lampley only.

The cheer leading from Lampley was horrible, That why am glad fighter like Tarver and RJJ are creeping into the sport and i hope they are there to stay, Even when Maidana was landing lampley would be calling Khan;s shot which missed, If not for RJJ that was making it known that maidana just land a right across we would have thought Khan was "Gatti" Maidana.. I remember how Lampley use to do that ***** everytime he commentate on Cotto's fights.
