True, he was already established before going to Roach. But, he said neither were successful with Roach which is true with Hopkins and Oscar. But, Toney still had success with Roach. Granted it had to do more with the skills Toney had more so than Roach teaching.

Really??? From what I saw Litzao was givin his glove out for a dap, and Merchant was like "naahhhhh" for a few seconds then gave the thumbs down. I didn't see Dibella around there though.

Dibella is on Litzao's left in the corner leaning over the rope saying something to Merchant

I meant both ways as I said they were vets, I didn't know he was with Roach in the Jirov fight, I thought he was with Roach in his not so good heavyweight fights, but that wasn't really the main point anyway, Roach does not seem to promote fighting on the inside. It seems a bit bizarre to me, as Dazed said Futch was big on inside fighting, but then again it is less important in this current age of boxing.

I always wondered what exactly Roach did with Toney. It's not like he could really teach much to Toney, who had all that experience in prize-fights and gym wars before he worked with Roach. It obviously wasn't conditioning.

I guess it was more of a mental/motivational thing. Even then, Toney often showed up fat for fights.

                  lulz.

Toney got good sparring at the wild card? Maybe?

Roach is also an excellent gameplanner and in fight trainer as well.

I thought by that he mighta meant respect, as in, Khan picked the hardest hitting guy.

But it does seem he lack's respect for Khan so might not have done.

One question post fight was a joke.

Thing is he was made to look foolish because on asking Maidana a 2nd question, Maidana kinda snuffed him and walked off. So Lampley's questioning ended up looking pretty miniscule and pointless.

To the simple-minded it does get confusing.
