Maidana figured out a very deadly opponent in Khan. He finally figured out a way to catch him and hit him. Khan can wing off quicksilver combinations and has decent power, good mobility.. Sometimes he just freezes on the ropes though and lets Maidana land arcing combos. But those body shots he threw (though he didn't throw many for some reason) are deadly

So Maidana has heart obviously.. and a fighting cunning about him. He's not as "brainless lot of heart" as people make him out to be.
I think you caught this comment in the middle of me trying to make an absurd statement to show TS how ignorant his point was.

    Obvious sarcasm. An Oxymoron.

I'm saying, and I'll say this the last time. Glass chinned fighters would never have taken those shots without going down. This thread is about Khans chin, not his defence. And he proved in this fight that his chin is fine.

Maidana can hurt anybody, because he IS A HARD ****IN PUNCHER. Hard punchers can hurt and knock out anybody, that's what DEFINES hard punchers.

I agree khan's defence needs work, he is not the finished article...but is one hell of a fighter. You been hating on khan for the longest anyway don't know why I am bothering.
so am i wrong from expecting more??? i thought this would be the kids breakout performance. would u consider it that??? im sorry, but im not trying to hate at all. i just think khan has a long way to go.

anyways thats all moot. if khan doesnt get as much credit, its his fault. he was the one comparing himself to the likes of mayweather and pacquaio. i expected a lot more from him, i expected a dominating performance, instead he was lucky to get out alive. is there a problem stating these things whern u have a fighter talking about how great they are on twitter?? well excuse me for not being a mindless drone.
Never looked this bad? Ortiz was knocked down and LOST vs Maidana. Alexander got a hometown decision against Kotelnik. Khan WON and he showed good heart and chin. He looked WAAAAAYY better than Ortiz and Alexander. And let's not forget how much Ortiz was being hyped up as the next big thing.

And as for calling out Mayweather and Pac? What fighters haven't at this stage? Offcourse Khan ain't on their level but he is 24 years old and it's not impossible that he will reach that level one day.

dude, once again and go back and re read wat i wrote. i never said he was glass chinned. i said it was clearly something more. but i also said his chin isnt great. nothing i said was wrong. it wasnt hate, it was perspective. so i think he could have been put out in this fight is that inocorrect??? i also think he shouldnt have been in any situation where he could have gotten sparked either. i didnt have this being a close fight but it was. it makes me realize khan has a long way to go. is that really incorrect???

i was talking about mayweather and dlh. not those two. they are on the same level as khan imo. and sure, but khan takes it to another level. he mention mayweather every other week. he set himself up for that. its one thing to call a fighter out, but its another thing to talk about how you are ready to beat him and that u want the fight. khan got ahead of himself, thats undeniable at this point

More devastatingly tenacious than anything. He never stops coming forward. He could be better if he got Pac or Khan or Floyd like training. A whole lot crisper, and a whole lot stronger.

At his full potential Maidana knocks out anyone at his weight class.

I'm not arguing against that. I'm not saying Khan is a great fighter and would beat Mayweather or whatever, I'm not saying Khan has a great chin. I'm not saying Khan looked extremley impressive this time.

I'm saying. Khan do not have glass chin and he proved alot of people wrong. Let's take it for what it is. LOADS of people here thought Maidana would knock him out with ease.

Yeah I thought it was, because you can't really anticipate the 10th round, if that didn't happen I wouln't be surprised if khan stopped maidana late, but it gave maidana a second wind. In the cold light of day khan and roach will analyse the video and make khan realise he made a lot of mistakes, but also did a lot of good things. It was a big monkey off his back getting through this fight, and if you were expecting a top pound 4 pound fighter yes your entitled to expect more, but he is not there yet. People have to realise he has only been in with 3 world level calibre fighters, so he is still learning in these fights. To beat someone as dangerous as maidana in still very much a learning phase in his career for me is impressive, but then again everyone's expectations are different. For me he faced his kryptonite and clearly won the fight, and these days its refreshing when a young fighter faces someone that is wrong for him in a lot of ways. It is another step a big step, breakthrough fight? like I said open for debate depending on who you are. It certainly wasn't gatt-mayweather if thats what you were expecting, but maybe his gatti performance is still in the future.

i did, once upon a time. but i came into this fight expecting a break out performane a la mayweather/corrales pac/mab. it didnt happen. so to me it was more of a let down after the midway point of the fight. i respects khans skill set and i like his swagger, but if ur gonna talk **** then u better back it up in the ring. it was a great fight tho, my candidate for foty!
