And you'd rather have cotto-marg again and possibly Cotto-pac after that?

    Those wont be mismatches?

Hard to sell a guys who drew with Cintron and lost to Williams 2 fights in a row
he beat cintron twice in one night, and the pwill fight was FOTY.

but to answer your question: how about getting this guy 2-3 fights a year instead of waiting on hbo to throw you dates?

Ok so how has he been around for a "while"

Beating Bruma in the end of 08, then drawing with Cintron and losing to Williams wont make you a sell like you expected Dibella to do with Sergio

            lou ain't done *****.
Well thats bc arum and de la hoya sign all the best prospects. Where do you think arum got cotto? Right out of the olimpics and had a huge grounds to build a star the same thing with lopez. Also with jcc jr he was a son of a legend and has build him into a minor star. Lou and other small promoters dont get those chances to sign the best talent and turn them pro.

This isn't a great fight. Martinez would beat the **** out of Cotto.

                wtf?

cotto/marg II is a good fight. it has all kinds of storylines, but i'd prefer if marg got a tune up first.

cotto/pac not such a good fight, but if cotto stops margarito where pac failed, it could be an interesting fight if the fight is at 147 lbs or 150 lbs. is pac gonna win? yeah, but it will shut up all those critics that say cotto was weight drained. cotto/martinez doesn't have this dynamic.

its a hell of a lot better than cotto vs JCC Jr which bob originally planned to do

HBO is the ultimate way to get a boxer known

If you are suggesting Sergio fighting 3x a year against nobodies on unknown networks would make him a bigger draw then fighting once or twice a year on HBO, then you must be delusional

I think you got it wrong.

arum offered a $2.5 million flat fee for dibella with arum being sole promoter.

dibella offered $5 million flat fee for arum with dibella being sole promoter.

if I'm reading it right, that's not asking for a bigger flat fee.

                      And did not negotiate.
what is there to negotiate? there was no way arum is gonna let dibella buy him out! that' ridiculous.

They just dont want the fight.
probably...they have nothing to gain in fighting s-mart. chances are cotto loses.

But if martinez takes the first offer it will just happen over and over again bc he will still wont have a fan base like cotto.
                      that's dibella's fault, not arum's fault.

I would bet if martinez took the deal and would keep on winning and martinez would end up in this same situation with out any good opponents to fight he would fight another of arums cash cows jcc jr. Arum would do the same thing to him give him a flat fee bc jr is the draw thats why he needs to stand up.
no, what s-mart needs to do is get a real promoter, not some glorified booking agent like dibella.
