Why should Arum co-promote with Dibella who is a joke of a promoter? Cotto-Margarito will make more than all of Dibellas fights in a year put together. Get Martinez to fight someone at 160, quit making little fighters jump up to fight your no name ass

But the language barrier isn't that big of a deal IMO. Both Pac and Cotto's English is limited. Plus Berto speaks English and is a marketable fighter but he's with Dibella so you know how that goes.
Arum and King need to hold a master class in promotions and invite guys like Goosen, Dibella, etc to learn how to build up fighters and turn them into draws. Guys are amateurs looking to leech off of other's investment and work. If they brought something to the table, then I'm sure co-promoting would be more attractive and viable to a businessman like Arum.

It's not a coincidence that he's personally built up some of the biggest draws in the sport from the ground up (Oscar, Floyd, Manny, etc) and been involved in the biggest events ever. He puts a lot of $ and effort into turning his fighters into mainstream draws and revenue generators. I'd be apprehensive about sharing the pot with a 'promoter' who does nothing beyond booking open dates that were handed down to him by HBO.
I mean Martinez is the lineal MW champion and has movie star looks, a guy like that in Arum's hands would be a huge draw at this point in his career, but under Dibella, no one outside of hardcore fans has any clue who he is. So Arum has a choice of matching up Cotto fighters he turned into stars, whose first fight did 500K PPV and both of them are bigger and more recognizable now... or share the pot with a glorified HBO bookercan't even promote a talent like Martinez... sort of an easy decision from his vantage point.
prospect with potential like benavidez korobov lopez and many more bc he is able to beat any other offers from small promoters like lou or shaw. And lou has done a great job with martinez considering he got him so late in his career.

You cant turn a guy like Martinez into a Cotto-type draw after only what 9 months of success at the top level and like 12 years of fighting nothing but bums

Instead they wanted to give martinez a set fee which isnt fair considering it would land in ppv plus the site fee tickects and all the other stuff involved. Doesnt that sound even a little messed up considering hes the champ?

considering martinez is the champ, I agree, it's ****ed up. but beggars can't be choosers.
You are supporting Arums greed? Cotto fought Foreman who never even came close to a main event and had no fans in his previous fights but he still fought him.
Yes, Arum has a gold mine by recycling his fighters 3 or 4 times but you cant seriously want to see that more then a fight against Martinez
