considering martinez is the champ, I agree, it's ****ed up. but beggars can't be choosers.
Bc that is how all fights are done especially ppv. Its not like martinez is asking for a 50 50 split. I think its pretty simple arum ad cotto just never wanted the fight in the first place and used this as an excuse to say it was lous fault for not making the fight.

Bob Arum knows exactly what hes doing and thats making money for his fighters and him.

      Haters gonna hate tho lmao.
sad but true. other than wifebeater jr, arum has the top 3-5 money makers in boxing.

pac, cotto, marg, juanma. if you're gonna play ball w/ arum, it's gonna be by his rules. i don't like it or want it. but I gotta respect arum's promotional skills.

Who? He fought absolute nobodies until he drew and lost in '09

Sergio has been around for 1 year. When he fought Williams, he got a couple fans on here. But before that nobdy even mentioned his name

Just saying- If just this year I put the money and effort into brokering deals to have Cowboys and Yankees stadiums to host my fights. Had my fighters on late night talk shows, 60 minutes, independently financed PPV cards, etc then I'd want someone who was on the same level to 'co-promote' and share revenue with. A co-promotion with GBP or King for a Pac-Floyd fight makes sense because it could garner 3 mil+ buys and both guys have been well promoted and bring in huge numbers independently. But matching someone like Pacquiao who routinely does a million PPV buys and fills stadiums with a HBO fighter who can't get 5K people in an arena doesn't work if you're sharing revenue. That's why Arum tried to buy Dibella out, Lou should've taken that deal. It's no different than the usual 'promotion' he does for his fighters- put them on HBO slots then get a fee.

You cant turn a guy like Martinez into a Cotto-type draw after only what 9 months of success at the top level and like 12 years of fighting nothing but bums
What about a guy like Berto?

beggars can't be chooser and lou is beggar, and by associaiton so is martinez, which I'm sorry to say.

does martinez deserve 50/50... sure, he's the MW champ. but cotto and arum aren't gonna deal unless they get paid. martinez is a huge risk. huge risk meaning cotto probably loses.

if i'm martinez, i take the 2.5 mill, whup cotto's ass, and use cotto as a stepping stone to increase my market value.

You think Arum rose to this kind of money by only pinning his fighters against eachother?

Arum is denying the oppotunity that other promoters granted him early in his career

Typical Top Rank bull****. I'm not surprised at all. I'm mad at myself for ever defending Arum. The money hungry bastard.

lou ain't *****. he's small potatoes. he's basically a booking agent for HBO.

even goosen is better than lou. goosen at least got pwill that fight with margarito, and has done ppvs before. goosen has done an adequate job with areola as well.

                      lou ain't done *****.
