Maybe if the movie was about the life of Rocky Graziano, or a Rocky Marciano OK, hell even name the character Chuck Wepner since he got the inspiration to make this movie from him.

But, there is no Rocky Balboa in the record books is a fictional character... Is hilarious that he got in the IBHOF for that.

They had to let Stallone in under some kind of criteria.

Perhaps "advancement" of the sport or some kind of bull**** like that for making boxing even more popular with his movies. I'd be pissed if I was a fighter.

I dont think anyone is downplaying the movie. it is what it is. a movie. at the end of the day this is boxing, not the oscars. I think the movie did good (even thought it is unrealistict) for the sport, but i dont think he deserves to be in the IBHOF. this should be someting sacred to the sport. people make arguments about how odlh (who i could care less about) doesnt deserve to get in, yet an ACTOR gets in? isnt this what separates the good from the elite/ greats?
