I give Benn credit for surviving the first round and coming back to win. But I will never change my opinion that there was something wrong with G. Even though I know its treated as sacralidge to make such a contention around here.Comment

Originally posted by JUYJUYWatching Benn at the start of his career, when he knocked out his first 22 opponents in the early stages, I don't know if I've seen anybody punch that hard, he left his opponents hospitalised. But Post-Watson he was more cautious, not putting as much power into his shots because it risked him burning out, until McClellan came along six years later and Benn decided to just go for it again due to Benn ageing and knowing the G-Man could out-box him. To stand in front of Nigel Benn for almost 30 minutes with no defence is ridiculous, your just asking for brain damage.Comment

Originally posted by JUYJUYWell I don't know about slugging, but I believe he could of out-boxed anybody if he was obeying Manny. The bits and pieces I've seen of G-Man actually BOXING is very impressive, but his motto was "Why should I stand around for 12 rounds when I can get the job done in 1?" which is fair enough lol.Comment

Originally posted by MacKayIf he would have listened to Manny and boxed he would not have gotten hit so much in previous fights. If he would done that earlier in his career and came to fight benn with a 100% intact brain. No way does been outslug McClellan. You say its suicide to stand in front of Benn and try to slug. You have the other way around its suicide to stand in front of McClellan. Even Julian Jackson could not stand in front of him and slug with him, and no matter what you say I will never believe that Benn hits harder than Jackson. Jackson had like 43 ko in 48 fights when he fought McClellan the 1st time.
And yeah, I'm sure McClellan had brain damage before the fightif that was the case he'd of been killed early on because nobody takes so many of Benn's punches and comes out without permanent injury, nobody previously had taken so many of Benn's punches, we were used to Benn's opponents crumbling in front of him left, right and centre when he landed his best shots, but McClellan remained because his chin was too good for his own good. And that's how he got brain damage, from Nigel Benn's punches

Originally posted by JUYJUYBenn didn't stand in front of McClellan, he used more head movement. If he stood in front of McClellan with no defence, he'd of been knocked out early. But McClellan didn't catch Benn cleanly, because Benn was making himself awkward to hit, if he had caught Benn cleanly it would of been lights out.

Floyd is way better then jones! jones has no fundemental boxing skills he just runs around with his hands down, floyd has good offensive skills, defensive skills, and reflexes. The only thing he lacks is punching power he has good power but not that one punch knock out power that jones jr had.Comment

You act as if its a ludicris possiblity that McClellan could have had braindamage before that bout despite all the punches he took before fighting Benn. What is ludicris is this close minded mentality. Yet when it comes to Benn and Eubank losses you have a bag of the lamest excuses. Oh..Eubank lost to Collins because Collins was Hypnotised. Or Benn was never the same after the fight with G. Yet in a fight when it was clear that there was something wrong with G after the first round your ears are closed. Because you are biased toward Benn, he is your favorite fighter, and your other favorite fighter Eubank beat him twice. It is total and utter hypocrisy.no offence but this is as clear as a bell dude.
And 'The Celtic Worrier' Collins sticks out like a sore thumb when mentioning elite black fighters in their prime
(nah but I like Stevie, he had **** all skill but he was indeed hard as nails and could give anybody a fight)Comment
