He's no smaller than Jeff Lacy, a SMW titlist, but is more durable and has more ability. He just needs to make some adjustments to his style and keep working at the weight.
Lacy at least has longer reach than Abraham. Not only that, but matches almost every other 168 fighters reach and is even longer than a couple.

Lacy has more reach than Ward, Green, and Bute, same reach as Kessler, just a half inch shorter reach than Froch, just Johnson and Dirrell have longer reach than Lacy, and Dirrell and Johnson actually have longer reach than all the other SMW's.

Arthur Abraham has the shortest reach of all and matches the average MW reach and height. Lacy although is a short SMW, at least matches SMW in reach.

Abraham comes up short in absolutely every physical attribute for a SMW.

Not most, to every SMW in the top 10, I wouldn't be surprised if it's even top 25.

King Arthur added that he will still be challenging Andre Ward for the WBA super middleweight title in the Super Six semi-final and will remain with trainer Uli Wegner.
BS, he's really just not at that elite level. If he were to go down to 160 he would get demolished by Martinez.

arthur sucks!!! Go back to germany and fight some c class fighters like before and pull your damn trunks up to your chest so every time you get hit in the stomach they call low blow!!! I always knew you were a coward who needed home court advantage to win, go back to middleweight so sergio can knock you out cold!!!!

He is what he is, but he can certainly compete at SMW. He just will likely always fall short against some of the other top guys around him at the weight if he doesn't find a way to adjust his style.

Blaming his size is just his way of rationalizing the loss, but I'd be surprised if he can go back to 160. He's grown into a SMW.
He wasn't but he could get away with it more at MW as he was bigger and they weren't as big, hard hitting, and rangey - generally.

I think he may have beaten a bigger rangier Pavlik because Pavlik's a bit more one dimensional than Froch as much as I dislike Froch. Pavlik's not as tough either imo and gets more discouraged.

I'm not excusing Abraham's loss but his lack of range was always cited as a potential problem in this tourney and it does seem to be a legitimate concern. If he becomes a little more versatile he stands a better chance but he can't change that much so will likely never beat a Froch, Johnson, Kessler or Dirrell. It's been exposed what things beat him and keep him off.

There were many opportunities where Abraham could have slipped Froch's jab and thrown a counter right over the top, but that style of his has really messed him up. It's like his body is automatically engineered to go into a shell once his opponents throw, anyone notice that? Clottey has the same issues too.
Dude proved he lacks most of the tools. No head movement, can't counter punch, no footwork. His defense consists of holding his hands in the same exact spot and waiting until a guys done punching. The guy packs a punch at middleweight, but thats all he has going for him. A lot of guys have been exposed in this tournament.

The question is, how can you even dislike Froch? He's everything that is right about boxing - with every fight, he wins more boxing fans over and more people who hated him see the light.

Ward still has a job to do.

Nobody should take AA for granted.

Pacquiao vs Author Abraham: March 13, 2011!

Author Abraham admits he is no Super middleweight the other guys are too big, Pacquiao Immediately challenges him at a catchweight of 169, no OST, for the soon to be created Light Heavyweight Ruby Belt!

Roach thinks this fight will be just like Clottey but louder because of the European fans.

jup, people on here claiming Abraham is a bum

ask the the people on his resume if hes a bum.

I mean same with Clottey, he got a close fight with Cotto and Tony and now hes a bum cuz Pac the geatest of our era beat him.

I mean Abe is a good boxer and a badass puncher, no shame in losing to Froch. people say it was emberassing. but people still underrated Froch and his ability. ask Pascal ask Abraham.
