None have had an easy route.

I'd go with Ward at a push because he hasn't had to leave his hometown. He still fought Kessler when he was favourite though, and Green and Bika are solid contenders also.

He fought Kessler at home and that allowed him to land numerous head butts while never being deducted a point. If that fight was away from home, there's a possibility Ward would have got DQ'd. But other than the head clashes, it was a good showcase of Ward's skills, although by damaging Kessler with the head it probably allowed Ward to put on that display. Tough one to call. I'd like to see a rematch in Europe, or at least some other state because it was still an entertaining fight which deserves an encore on neutral grounds.

Johnson had it easiest but out of those 3, Ward.

I agree about Ward fighting at home the whole time but people seem to forget that he fought Mikkel "Second Best SMW Ever" Kessler in his first fight. If I recall correctly, Kessler was even favored to not only win the Ward fight but the entire tournament.
