Comments Thread For: Arum: Berto is The Toughest Sell For Manny Pacquiao

I'd rather Bradley at 140 or Martinez at 154. I think either is feasible--I can't imagine Pacquiao having an issue with the former. But if it has to be at 147 then fight Berto...on regular HBO. I don't want to see Marquez in the ring at 140 or above. And I don't want to see Mosley in the ring against Pacquiao period.Comment

Me too, but I think expecting a fighter to fight simultaneously over 3 weight classes may be a bit much. Berto was the only answer I could come up with for a WW fight, just seein what everyone else thought.I'd rather Bradley at 140 or Martinez at 154. The thing is...Manny is not fighting simultaneously at three weight classes. He's been the same weight for nearly two years now. It's his opponents who suffer. I'm sure Bradley would do a 144 catchweight. It should be him or Martinez and if neither, then Berto (though that doesn't excite me as much).Comment

What's wrong with Floyd making a phone call and sign upPeople need to be logical and use their brains.
Shane Mosley had to leave Golden Boy Promotions
as a fighter to get a fight with Manny Pacquiao.
That just shows you how bad Arum, Roach and Manny
wants to make the fight with Mayweather. Arum don't
even want to deal with Oscar AT ALL. Didn't Arum
say that he doesn't want Golden Boy as a co promoter
for a possible Marquez fight? You guys really think
Arum wants to deal with Golden Boy and Mayweather?
Arum did one hell of a job trying to make Manny look
squeaky clean in all this but we still remember this...
for the fight if he is interested? Why does it have to be
Pac camp that is initiating the talks?Comment

Good post, I think Berto needs to prove a little bit more, even though he is a dynamic fighter right now, he needs a few more to deserve the shot at Pac. Everyone is looking to fight Pac and it would not be right if he got the shot first. JMM would be a great fight because again he has went all 12 with Pac twice and could be a great fight again, he looked strong on Saturday. I would like to see JMM and Pac again, and have Berto fight Cotto and see where we stand from there.. IMO.Comment

Thats my point. Expecting a WW to jump up and fight the best at 154 as well as expecting him to trim down and fight the best at 140 is asking a lot. Im also kind of surprised you would suggest for him to take a catchweight fight. Im not attacking your opinion I just think he's reached the point Floyd did, its either keep moving up or take tune ups. After Berto there in absolutely nobody left at WW.The thing is...Manny is not fighting simultaneously at three weight classes. He's been the same weight for nearly two years now. I'm not expecting him to jump anywhere. If he can fight for a paper title at that weight then he can fight for the real one. But even I doubt Manny would fight Martinez and I don't blame him for not doing it. I mean, wtf, everyone's got a limit. That said, Martinez at 154 or Bradley at 140. That's that. Berto at 147 should be the third option. Truthfully, there's only one fight left for Manny and we all know what that is. But if that can't happen, I'll be damned if I have to watch Marquez/Mosley get the shot. You cherry pick for one year then you start off the next one with that? Boxing needs help.Thats my point. my point is you criticize pac for doing the same things floyd has done. you give excuses for floyd doing it but bash pac for it. both guys should be held to the same standardComment
