No, Calzaghe at 168 has better resume than Ward. And, is not even close or up for debate.

However, Ward is only 26... at this age he has a better resume than what Calzaghe did at the of 26. But, overall? No...

    Give it some time.

If ward wins super 6...fights and beats Bute then of course.

only thing Calzaghe will have over him is the popularity he had at home

Joe would of literally slapped the taste out of Ward's mouth.

Exactly. Both Ward and Froch are on their way to surpassing Calzone.

nahh but what he accomplished in his first 30 fights is more than calzaghe did in his first 30.

ppl come on here and complain about ward fighting in oakland. well guess what??? where was calzaghe fighting at this time in his career??? when was the last time lucian bute fought away from canada??? ppl just dont like the guy because of his style and because they are insecure bute/calzaghe fans. that or they are pro ero fighters...lmao, whatever that means.

I agree with the sentiments that Froch and Ward will both have surpassed Calzaghe by the time they retire. Froch looks flawed and like he is easy prey, but opponents are unable to capitalize when they get in the ring with him.

I normally don't reply to "comparison" threads b/c the people responding don't seem to know what they're talking about or ignore all logic when it comes to their fighter. However, the comments so far have mostly been impartial so here's my two cents:
                    .
Ward has not surpassed Calzaghe, yet. They both beat Kessler and Bika. Calzaghe shutout Lacy; Ward did the same to Green. Calzaghe's victory was more impressive since he was the underdog and Lacy was an undefeated world champion. Ward was expected to beat Green, just not that easily. Calzaghe's victories over Jones and Hopkins don't really count, he beat two forty year olds who knocked him down in the very first round. But credit must be given to his victory over a 31 year old Eubanks. Eubanks was past his prime, but he wasn't old which is why he was the favorite in that fight. Ward doesn't have a comparable victory. If Ward wins the tournament by beating the two strongest punchers at 168 - Abraham and Froch - then I would say his resume is better. Right now Calzaghe still has the edge.

Calzaghe would beat the breaks off of both Froch and Ward.....no comparison.
