That was five years ago. Nowadays we have boxers being deemed washed up from one performance to the next. That's ancient history, so is Pacquiao's eleven year old KO loss.

What did Manny change after the sixth round? Lmao. Some of the most brutal rounds took place after that. He didn't change ****.

(If the 'never fight Mosley' comment was directed at me, no. I don't believe I ever said that. I didn't post here much, if at all, back then. I knew the chances were high considering the timing.)

He started boxing and moving around the ring more. Watch the fight.

I've watched it a half-dozen times. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. He murdered him in second half of the fight, AFTER the bodyshot. It's not like he ran and potshotted. He still blitzed Tony round after round until the twelfth. All he did was stay off the ropes.

Manny did show a change in tactics mid fight when he took a shot from Marg and when he realized he was tougher than he may have expected.
I have the fight taped and can reanalyze it now but I am fairly certain of it.

TS, on what do you based Martinez being a more technical fundamentally sound Boxer than Floyd?

yeah, wifebeater will hit pac with potshots and he might even hit pac with 1-2 combos... but pac will comeback with 5-6 combos from all kinds of ****ed up angles that wifebeater won't see coming.

wifebeater will make it 12 rounds if he takes no risks, but he will get outworked. it's that simple.
how do you figure manny has a better chin than floyd? manny's offense is better than floyd's? another dumb claim--seeing how floyd holds the compubox record for punches landed vs punches connected on him-----you're a silly rabbit--lol---

and as far as this whole potshotting fiasco--you're another one fooled--but you've been fooled a long time, so i expected a post like this---

floyd opens up more on southpaws--meaning he throws more combinations, not just potshots--and he walks them down--and bullies them--and he will bully manny all night--manny can try to outwork him all he wants--it will benefit floyd---and floyd will land shots to the body manny won't see coming--manny's footwork looks good against stationary fighter--floyd has much better balance---feints much better---lands more, and throws less---but his connect % is much better than manny's--and floyd is more versatile---i mean, manny is just starting to show improvement fighting off of the ropes--and guess who he's watching to improve this? floyd mayweather jr--all of the **** manny is doing now, floyd has been doing, and much better in terms of better polished, since he was an amateur fighter--manny has just gained a right hand some---floyd has always been a 2 handed fighter---you should know this and would know this if you actually paid attention---what kind of rebuttal can you counter my claims with pull?

coz to me, nothing more than pull of ****---you really don't break down their styles correctly at all---i would have figured you to be a little better by now-but, once again, you prove me wrong---smarten up kid--

Pacquiao's offense IS better than Floyd's, the same way Floyd's defense is better than Pacquiao's.

The +/- percentage of punches landed by you/punches landed on you is hardly an impressive figure. Boxing is one of few sports that has the probability of going beyond simple scorecards. It's about imposing physical will on another human being. I look at Margarito's face or De La Hoya's and then I look at Floyd's incredible connect percentage against Marquez, or whoever, and I say: Pacquiao is a better offensive fighter.

But the reverse is true. I see Manny with swollen eyes and cauliflower ears and Floyd without a mark and I say: Floyd doesn't get hit. But to quote statistics outside of a mathematic debate, to quote them as reasons for a fighter's greatness or lack thereof is idiotic.
