How bout you answer the question? We are talking about fight night weights here, Tony said he can make 150, Sergio can't. Obviously because Sergio is bigger than Tony, but if he will weigh in ONE (Tony weighed 167 vs Pac, Sergio 168 against Williams) pound heavier than Tony did against Pac, it shouldn't be a problem for the P4P King right? If that's the case, why try and drain him? Why not let him Weigh in at 154?

Ducking would have been fighting people other than Cotto. And when he came back, he fought the then supposedly top welter in Mosley. So who's to say had Cotto continued to win, Money wouldn't have fought him. Cotto was KO'd by Margarito, then Maragrito was KO'd by Mosley. Money fought the guy in the winner's bracket. I don't see how you can ask for more than that.
We can agree to disagree on this topic for now but were straying off the original topic so we can save this for another thread and day.

        What a load of crap!!

Wow, now they wanna worry about Pacquiao's health now Martinez is too big when good and well he is the same size as Margarito. Yeah they know PAC will get ****d by Martinez. Last time pacman faced a tuff opponent was Marquez and PAC got schooled.

we all know pac's belt is bogus... so its not even about defending his belt.
its just about getting the top guys to fight each other... pac is a WW, jr MW was just another notch on the belt... he has no business hanging out @ MW.

btw, if oscar was considered the "best" at 154 at the time, it was purely by default. LOL. how the hell does coming back from a loss from b-hop, then beating mayorga considered being the best @ 154. i have no idea. LOL.
floyd/oscar was a money fight. period. oscar was just a name at that point.
There was no clear-cut top guy at 154 when Money fought de la Hoya. I think Spinks had one belt. De la Hoya had one. And I think a couple foreign cats had belts. I think Forrest was making noise in the division a well. There was concensus #1 guy. De la Hoya was a beltholder. And his claim to the top spot was a relevant as anyone else's.

it aint a problem at all.....pac never said he wont fight sergio if he outweighs him by no matter how much fight night......sergio can weigh as much as he wants fight night!

Then why are people complaining he is "too big" for Pac, when he did great against Tony whom was only 1 pound lighter than Sergio, I'm sure 1 pound heavier is not a big deal right?

Bet. And the original topic basically stems from one of the biggest Pacwh*res on the planet making an excuse for Pac not to fight a legitimate superfight. Mayweather is in so much legal trouble, I don't see any chance of him being available to fight Pac in May. The next best guy out there is Martinez. Pac and his team love catchweight fights. Hell, 3 of his last 5 fights have been catchweight fights. Pac is a welterweight, Martinez is a middleweight. Martinez says he'll come down to the logical catchweight of 154. Pac has not only fought in, but currently holds a major title in the 154 lb division. Don't see any reason why this fight isn't made. Hell, Pac took gimmies all of 2010. Its time for the so-called P4P King to step up and defend his P4P title against a true P4P elite.

Like I said, Manny doesn't have to face this guy next or even in 2011, but he should eventually.

All the greats like Robinson, Armstrong, Ali, and others took on fights like this...and if Manny wants to be mentioned in the same breath as these guys.....it's fights like this he needs to take.

The crazy thing is this is a fight that he could probably win. Martinez has a lot of weakness that Manny could exploit and win or lose....this is a very close fight....regardless of what most think.

Perhaps its because Ronnie is a famous sportscaster in the phil? Try googling
