I've been watching Martinez fight for a while now
and he gets better. Too skilled to let Manny tee
off on him like all of his other past opponents.
there's a reason why Bob Arum and Manny's team
is saying Manny is too small now in a division where
he holds a belt. Manny wants credit for beating all
these bigger guys but then his people uses the excuse
that he is physicall too small. Should not have bitten
off more than he could chew.
    LOL. pavlik = manny?!?!?!
thats like margs = floyd.... hahaha

dude, sergio is the MAN right now... but lets not get carried away.
im sure pac can handle sergio's power... and pac is too fast for him.
BUT, i think sergio is pretty slick & will stay busy enough to beat pac.
i initially thought it would be a slaughterhouse, but once i let the p-will KO settle down a bit, i can see pac staying mobile and having a chance against sergio. pac has a great offense & his footwork would keep serg in check.
dont get it twisted, sergio is very hittable. floyd/pac could peg him all night. but serg has all the tools to defeat both.... as for pac, the belt is meaningless unless he unifies with martinez... if i was team pac, i would make the fight @ 152 and make it manny's farewell fight. win or lose, the fact that he fights sergio at his peak is career defining. that would overshadow all the lesser fights he took lately. and EASILY trumps floyds antics.

pac fought margs at 150 dumbass....if sergio really wants it he can get it there too!

But, I think that Pca would be able to touch Martinez up a bit. And what you're forgetting is that Martinez has a tendacy to get put on his ass in his fights. I think there's a very good chance Martinez would go down at least once. And also, Pac would outhustle him. Combine Pac outhustling him, along with Pac being the house fighter and I think Pac would win a close, maybe even controversal decision. The fight will basically come down to Pac being able to take Martinez' punches. If he can't, he's in trouble. If he can, I think he'll win.
very good points. i see martinez getting the win, but a pac victory isnt far-fetched... PLUS, it sets up a rematch, LOCKING out floyd entirely... let him enjoy his vacation. LOL.

I don't think any REAL boxing fans want to see Mayweather locked out. In all honesty, his legal situation is such a mess right now, he's really not relevant. But, he's still a factor because as long as he's around, there's a question as to who is TRULY the best fighter in the world. In the Mayweather, Pacquaio, Martinez triangle, I'd pick Mayweather to beat Pac, Pac to beat Martinez, and Martinez to beat Money. So we have a pretty good little situation going on at the top of the P4P list. Hopefully, Money can get his life in order because he's a talent and he's a tough out for anyone. Him being included only makes boxing better.

Mayweather a primadonna, absolutely. Mayweather a p*ssy, not at all.

Martinez is tough as nails. Pac is tough too but he
won't get off all of this punches on Martinez that he
landed on all of his other past opponents. Martinez
beats Pac up and puts him out. Sergio knows it, Arum
knows it and you can see Nathaniel knows it. Their trying
everything to keep Manny from Martinez. Bet you pretty
soon that they vacate Martinez's title to not fight Martinez
                for it.
disagree, cotto is a good boxer... and clottey was TOO much defense. LOL.
pac can slip his punches between guard, you havent seen that??? pac can MAKE his openings... unless sergio decides to keep his hands up, he WILL get pegged. i do see martinez roughing up pac pretty good.

dude, pac basically vacated that MW title after the margs fight. LOL.
although pac's p4p title is at stake

                  • I'm a huge Manny fan because he is exciting to watch and one of the few fighters who I feel always gives an effort in the wring worthy of the $50+ I spent on PPV.

Having said that, I agree that Pacman should avoid Martinez. Physically, the man Manny was 2 years ago may have won, maybe even easily. But in late 2010 and going into 2011, he's a bit slower, a bit more wear and tear, and a lot less motivated.

Now I'm not giving into the Mayweather camp. Pacman is the better fighter between the two of them. But at some point 2 issues become realities...

                    1. There's always a risk when a good little man takes on a good big man.
                    2. Age is something that every athlete loses to eventually.
