I hate hearing fighters say that **** (either that's him talking or he's echoing his promoter), but it's kinda true, we know Pirog, as a matter of fact, I didn't know Pirog until he beat Jacobs. I went back and watched some of his fights and the boi has skills, so if some how, some way this fight gets made, it would be awesome. But realistically, Pirog might not makes sense, but neither would fighting a welterweight, so why is Goosen talking about it?

Sergio was an unknown at one point too. The only reason he has risen is because other champions gave him a CHANCE. Sergio should do the same for other up and coming fighters.
I remember back as early as 2008 after Martinez defeated Bunema, everybody on this message board was like "Who's this 1 loss Martinez guy? ... Eh, just another Argentine with a padded record who hasn't fought anyone."
What did Martinez do to earn a shot at Pavlik? Draw with Cintron at 154 and lose to Williams at 160? Regardless of which way you think those decisions should have went, Sergio didn't earn anything until he was given a shot at the MW belts by Pavlik.
Sergio should return the favor instead of angling for fights with smaller men. Fights, I might add, that will do nothing to enhance his P4P standing if he wins because he is too damn big to get credit for beating the smaller guys he wants to fight.Comment

HBO needs to pay the money for Martinez Pirog. It would be a pick em fight. Winner unifies the middleweight division. Who wouldnt want to see this fight?Comment

Here is the thing, Martinez is overated, remember cotto, margarito, kelly pavlik, paul williams, all so called feared men in boxing.Where are they now. Martinez does want to fight Pirog cause he is trying to make money b4 he is exposed. Even when you look at the knockout punch he wasnt looking he just swung and because Williams let him inside, Martinez's shorter arms get there first. This guy has no power. Just Yesterday his manager was saying Arum choose who super Pacman fights, hell yeah. Now the shoe is on the other foot, they give lame reason for not fighting a bona fide world champion like Pirog. Not saying Pirog is not good, but ther can be no greater honor than fighting and winning another world championship. Anyway lets not get carried away, how much money does Martinez bring to the table and who many seats can he fill without help. So if Martinez wants to be the p4p he has to fight the best fights available and the best fighters available in his own weight class. Why bother with Pacman, fight any guys in the super six who are closer to his weight class, which by the way will coming to an end soon. Her is my warning to Martinez, be careful what you wish for. Coz I have sneaky feeling that if he comess down to 154 Pacman can still knock him out. I guess its not that bad being knocked out by Pacman than anybody else right now.I think if Williams changes trainers and maybe go to Steward, he can learn to fight tall. I think Williams vs Martinez 3, Williams takes it.Comment

I'm not a Martinez fan but I agree with him. There's nothing in beating a 30 year old prospect with 17 pro fights unless at least 5 of those wins were against top fighters. Barely one was against a good fighter who was a prospect as well.Comment

He won a vacant WBO title, now he's a "bona fide world champ".
He's ranked number 8 by The Ring in Middleweights. Dude is not even top 5. You got Zbik, Macklin, Geale, Williams, Sylvester, Pavlik, and Sturm all in front of this "bona fide world chump".
You're overrating paper champ Pirog.Comment
