This fight would LEGITIMIZE Pac-man's claim to being the Junior Middleweight Champ if he were able to scrap out a victory over Sergio Martinez at the true weight limit or 154; that's four pounds up for Manny and four pounds down for Sergio

If Manny were to lose their would be no shame in defeat to Sergio and I honestly beleive that he could be competitive with anyone at 154lbs because speed kills and he has the corner to put the victory road map together. PEOPLE WAKE UP!!! MANNY SPARS WITH MIDDLEWEIGHTS ON A REGULAR BASIS!!!

This fight would really get Manny's fire burning IMHO. Margarito was SHOT and the insiders at Top Rank KNEW IT; this is the only reason that fight was approved IMHO. Why hold your head on a bulll**** claim of winning an 8th world title? Margarito had no business in a title fight and the historians will make note of it. Manny stick and move his way to a decision over Martinez and then he woud have a true and legitimate claim to being the 154lb champ.

At the ******** windows, Manny would be better than a slight betting favorite and there would be tremendous betting action. Hold the thing at the Staples Center if you want and make it happen in 2011
    On the underlined part, above:

Not really. Pacquiao weighed at his heaviest vs. Clottey when he was 145 3/4 and took the scale for a Jr. Middleweight catchweight limit of 151 lbs. while weighing a mere 144.5.

The Martinez-PWilliams rematch had a catchweight limit of 158 lbs. Sergio came unto the scale at three quarters of a pound less.

Thus, while Sergio only has to go down 3 to 4 lbs. (he was 159 or more in Martinez-Williams I and vs. Pavlik), Pacquiao shall have to put on around 10 lbs.

Note: Martinez only has a 50% stoppage rate in his entire career (25 KO's in 50 fights), with 21 of those accomplished when fighting north of 150 lbs.

yes sergio-pac might never happen but it's good for sergio that his name is being mentioned.
This, seems like Martinez is using Pacquiao for his popularity. Almost like Brandon Rios wanting to take part of the Manny Pacquiao Era.

Pacman can fight Martinez if the contract states that Martinez will not exceed 160lbs middle weight limit when he enters the ring!!!

It could be a fair match-up at exactly 160lbs on fight night regardless of their size difference!
& this, if the fight ever gets made. This part sounds more reasonable if Martinez wants to fight the King.

So let me get this straight. It's okay for Pacquiao to fight Margarito being outweighed by a big amount, but doesn't want to fight Martinez who probably wouldn't be that much bigger than Margarito was. Or better yet, it's okay for Pacquiao to drag JMM all the way up to 147 after his last fight he came in at 132 against Juan Diaz. But isn't even willing to fight Martinez even if he drops a few pounds? Things that make you go hmmmmmm. This is why I can't be a Manny Pacquiao fan.

if marg aint too big, neither is sergio. ifpac wanna fight the big boys and claim to be a giant killer, he needs to fight them and their comfortable weight. not when drained

                  All you dumbass.

Sergio must fight a legitimate Middleweight.

                  Sergio vs. King Arthur Abraham.

                  The real KING will emerge!!!

                  Abraham by KO 3 rounds!

My God..some people are really insane that you want an originally 105 pounder to fight this time against a middleweight..nuff said...While Pac is going up some fighters are going down to fight him for what?....for legacy? Why don't you people ask Sergio to go up in weight to fight the Klitschos to prove that he is the best fighter in the world
