Yeah i agree but i have a vauge memory of reading something about dna testing done on unmixed south american natives showing they had some small part of european ancestry along with their mostly mongoloid gene markers...the theory was that a few thousand years after the asian migration into america a few europeans had arrived during the ice age and mixed with the native population creating a distinct race group. Anyway the native americans don't look like the generic mongoloid, maybe they have been isolated long enought to create a distinct race group or should they be seen as a subgroup of mongoloids?

yeah theyve found (arguably) caucasoid genetic traces all over the americas including the infamous kenwick man mummy whos skull dimensions suggested he was a racial hybrid

its not a stretch to think the earliest migrations coincided but the caucasoids were assimilated and never stuck around; just like way way later nordic genes found their way into the east coast of north america but the population was either assimilated or exterminated

Sergio Martinez is darker than me, yet we are both latino, simple as that. The TS is correct latino is not a race, but its an ethnicity. Even the Census says choose White (non latino) or latino, if you choose White(non latino) than you are denying your heritage. I use to be ricky hatton white, until i got tanned in the Florida sun by simply opening the patio and getting rays in the backyard, dosen't change ethinicity.


Sergio thanked his fellow Latin brothers around the world, i rooted for PW, but i say hats off to Sergio he is a class act and very respectful to everyone. Before the Pavlik fight he dedicated the fight to the earthquake victims in Haiti and Chile. He had to deal with the garbage that Pavlik's trainer said about him not being "Carlos Monzon" and also Arum saying "DOn't cry for me Argentina" after the fight.

Mayweather & pac won't fight this guy, its a loss that you can put on the bank. Sergio won't be a stationary punching bag ala Clottey or Margs, and he won't be pot shot all day by May.

Nice to see the $tormfront/sherdog members who claim Cain Velasquez as white after destroying the Viking bum all of a sudden claim Martinez. If Chavez jr were to win a world title he would automatically become white but if he stays on his bum ways he's a dirty Mexican.

people who are "latino" fall into three categories for "race": white (sergio martinez) black (tito trinidad, caballero casamayor, gamboa) and then some can claim they are descendents of the maya, inca, aztec, olmec, or whatver the natives were before the WHITE SPAINiards came and conquered... these people would be a different race, but i am ignorant on exactly what race it would be (whatever race the native americans, and eskimos are considered.. or maybe oriental)... an example of a boxer that could actually claim to be "mexican" or "nicaraguan" as their race would be mayorga.. juan manuel marquez also looks like he has some aztec or something in him
