Margarito is a whirlwind, he's gonna land punches on anybody. Pac's slick in the footwork department but not up top, he's easy to hit to the head and body if he stands still.

May I ask why you think that?

Pac is a volume puncher. When was the last time Floyd fought a volume puncher? He lowers the output of counter punchers, and grapplers and what have you but when has he ever lowered the output of a volume puncher? When was the last time he faced one? Castillo? 8 years ago? Chavez threw 100 punches in plenty of rounds against him....

I have yet to really see him reduce the output drastically of a volume puncher. Not saying he can't, but haven't really seen it. So I don't know if he can or can not plus he is slowing down now, so is Pac. So I really don't know...

Being a voulume puncher is the worst thing to be against Floyd, I repeat the WORST.

When you throw 1000 punches a fight you leave yourself open, unlike someone who throws 400 punches.

Not only does he leave himself open, his opponents average landing % is pretty high.

While Mayweather can throw more than you, and keep your output down as well as your landing %. So even if he opens himself, his opponents are reluctant to throw any punches, they'll get countered. This is not only about better defense and accuracy, obviously who opponents have more success against.

Mayweather actually threw less punches through 12 than Pacquiao through 8 rounds on De La Hoya.

481 punches thrown by Mayweather, 580+ thrown by Pacquiao.

Mayweather also reduced De La Hoya's output like no other fighter has before that fight.

Defensive and offensive, Mayweather outlanded pacquiao against common opponents =S. Except Hatton which Pacquiao destroyed early.

if i threw 10 cautious punches a round i bet that i could easily hit 4-5 of them. which give me 40-50 percent accuracy which makes me GREAT right?

Margarito normally throws about 100 punches per rd but he was barely throwing 50 punches per rd against Pacquiao. Mayweather is 90% defense, 10% offense..Pac is 90% offense, 10% defense. Mayweather never gets hit by much, but he doesn't break dudes down. Pac gets hit a bit more but he demolishes guys until they want to quit or they get ko'd. I'd say that what Pac gives away by getting hit, he more than makes up for in damage and points earned.

Floyd might limit Manny's landed percentage but when you throw 1000 punches per fight, landing 300 or 400 is fine. Especially when Mayweather normally throws 300-400 punches in a fight he will be so concerned with defense and avoiding punches, he will not even throw 200 punches the entire fight and landing 70-100 punches isn't going to win him the fight....so his 50% landed percentage won't do anything for him.
