Why is everyone making such a big deal about this matchup. It's not like Tomaz is a natural heavy, he used to fight at light heavy, even at the time Jones did. If Roy beefed up again they'd be close to the same size. Adamek has lost to speed in the past (Dawson), so I don't find it hard to believe that even a shot Jones could win. With that said, I don't think Jones should fight anymore, mostly because he has nothing to prove anymore.

Size has nothing to do with the fact that Jones is finished as a fighter. In case you missed it he lost his last two fights and looked terrible doing it. Losing by a first round KO to glorified club fighters like Danny Green should have been enough for Jones. He can no longer compete at an elite level and it's painfully obvious. Or at least it should be. Jones was once a great fighter and probably the most complete fighter I have ever seen. But those days are long gone and every boxer gets to the point where they need to quit or get embarrassed in the ring. Jones has been past that point for a while now. Anybody who thinks he has a chance of winning or justifies this fight is delusional.

Probably one of the worst match ups possible. Only the incredibly devoted Adamek fans/Roy haters could want to see this.

So I suspected this wasn't true, Adamek has too much class to do this.

Dan Rafael (ESPN) : Contrary to reports saying a deal for Tomasz Adamek to fight Roy Jones is imminent, Main Events Kathy Duva says its NOT TRUE and there's no fight.

I really didn't think Adamek wanted this fight. It does nothing for him. I would like to see Adamek-Haye because I don't see either beating the Klitschko's.

Good thing this isn't true. Not even just because Roy is done as a fighter. Even though the heavyweight division is weak there are far better opponents to test oneself against besides the likes of Grant, Maddalone, or RJJ.
Eddie Chambers is a far better choice even though he got murdered by Klit. Still a way better option. That's just one. **** I would rather even see Sam Peter. I dunno I just feel a fight with Maddalone is pointless for him.

Adamek is quickly becoming a joke if its true.

I hope you are right Tunney.

I can't imagine Adamek would be this desperate for money, or that Jones would still be fighting relevant fighters, especially ones with pop.

Didnt Roy fight Bernard at 175? He wont be able to put on that much muscle at this point of his career. Roy has a gift for commentary and HBO should instantly give him a job next to Lampley. I know Roy wants to go out on a W but its shouldn't be against Adamek because Adamek is better that he gets credit for.
