In fact 1 could argue that he should thank floyd for his new celebrity. He didn't shine until floyd was no longer there!
    i totally disagree.

let's not act like pac just showed up the last couple of years.

floyd wasn't a big mainstream star 'til 2007 , bud.

pac accomplished the same thing next year.

    both should thank delahoya.

there will still be "who would win?" discussion.

i don't think there would be much debate about who is atg better though.

pacquiao's resume and accolades surpassed mayweather.

mayweather would need to beat pacquiao to pass him.

there's several factors on judging a fighter's place in history:

resume , titles , opponents' greatness , opponents' name recognition , memorable fights , memorable stories........

        pacquiao has that in spades.

resume you can debate. even his titles you can question.

but pacquiao's opponents are considered greater , his opponents will be more remembered through the years , he will have more memorable fights people in the future can watch and of course he has his rags to riches , underdog stories that boxing historians eat up.
He would still end up missing the crown ***el though, people will remember him well but nothing can make up for not facing the one guy people really wanted to see you fight.

You can say it would hurt Floyd more but still that stain would reach both of them.

he is not asking you to find the greatest he is asking you to find any slick defensive counter punchers Floyd has fought

its a legit question if you are putting Manny to the same question.

Floyd would've still won every won if he came in at 144.

True, but the fact that Pac gave folks more entertainment towards the tail end, and with a better attitude will work in his favor. At this stage, and of course it could flip at any moment. But imo Pacquiao is currently winning the PR war between himself and Mayweather. He's been winning it dating back a few weeks now. Starting with the "racial" U stream rant from Mayweather, it's been mostly downhill for him in the press.

floyd has putting in work and dominating top opposition. True virtuoso performances. Meanwhile, pacquiao is getting knocked around the ring by a washed morales and letting jmm get up after 3 kds and get a draw

pacquiao is a good fighter but he is no floyd mayweather. Floyd has been doing this for years without titlefight catchweights or weight stipulations or any other bs to **** history

ehhh...not suprising. everyone has been trying to force this fight when in actuality it seems to me they are making it less and less likely to happen. i mean i dont feel that sorry for floyd but i dont think ppl in the media understand his mindset that well. hes not the type of guy u can coax into doing some **** he doesnt want to by calling him names and making fun of him. that doesnt mean he doesnt care...he does but instead of making him fight i think its gonna push him far away from boxing altogether. whether right or wrong i think the guy feels underappreciated and he looks upon himself as a victim.

well if the fight doesnt happen, im sure that will be one of many reasons. but another thing ill say is floyd wont fight anyone if he doesnt fight manny. if he doesnt fight manny i surmise that hes completely done with boxing altogether, which is good for him i guess. no1 will rly miss him besides his fans. thts just my take on the subject.

floyd was the best fighter in the world since 2005 and that was before he fought oscar and where was manny ranked at the time?
