Son, let me explain.Originally posted by catskills23Foreman was an arm puncher . If thats the case how come foreman didnt learn to punch properly after his defeat to ali and knock ali out . That article is bull**** .
fighters like foreman, even a young foreman, with advanced fighting experience(he fought grown men from age 14-15) KNOW, REALIZE, AND UNDERSTAND that if you put everything into every punch you are only setting yourself up to get punked. That's right just take a look at cottos fight with corely, cotto did what you are talking about trying to 'be the pride of puertorico' or whatever the **** and ended up punking himself.
the thing is, in boxing, unless you're a supernatural god like bernard hopkins, you are gonna get hit. if you put everything into every punch, theres a good chance youll get hit when you're transferring that weight. this is bad, because it takes the leg strength you used to generate the punch you are about to throw, and places it in your opponents favor, by directly applying all power to HIS GLOVE to YOUR SKULL. not a good xfer.
foreman was the master at arm punching. open gloved style, he'd catch your punch THEN throw the big weight xfer punch, until he saw you **** up though so he could CAPITALIZE on that, he would just plod open gloved style with arm punches, THEN let loose the catapult when the time is right
tysons people knew better than to throw him in there with that ****ing legendary animal foreman was.
"He would just come in, grunt, throw punches, go home."

Foreman was a arm puncher but the reason he never learned to get his body into his punches and get snap on his punches was because Foreman never listened to anybody period.Based on everyhting i read about the man he was always really ****y.He did things his way.He never really trained hard period. He just sparred a little and ran a little.**** Saddler and Archie Moore also boosted up Foremans head by telling him no man could handle his punch and he believed it.
As i said before it is funny how Foreman could punch harder than any heavyweight in history even though most of them learned how to punch properly and Foreman did not.Even as a old man Foreman could punch harder than a guy like Tyson or Lewis could.Just read what Holyfield said about Foremans punch compared to Tyson ,Lewis Bowe and the other guys he fought.
Could you imagine if Foreman would of trained like he should of and learn how to punch properly?Foreman is physical freak of nature.Comment

I dont believe foreman was an arm puncher no puncher who becomes heavyweight champ is an arm puncher .Comment

out of his prime, he never did come in ripped up, I agree about that butOriginally posted by tommyhearns804He never really trained hard period. He just sparred a little and ran a little.
Foreman had his own regimine that consist of many unorthodox things, chopping wood, pulling around trucks w/ wearing a harness, and etc. He never focused on getting ripped up, even in his prime as a young man he had a small layer of flab, his style is just overeating (particularly in the morning, 13 eggs for breakfast etc)and then training for maximum strength...
im curious though, do you remember where you heard he didn't train hard?Comment

Slipx the people around Foreman said he never trained hard in his prime. They said if he was told to come in at a certain time so he could train he wouldn't he could come in when he wanted to and left when he wanted too.He got away with those things because Moore and Saddler knew he could become champ someday.Gil Clancy said the same thing. He said Foreman would never listen to anything he was told. And when you see Foreman pulling trucks and chopping trees it is just for tv because i read from people who know him that he never does that stuff unless a camera is in his face.
And catskill it is hard to believe Foreman could punched than hard being a arm puncher but the fact is he was a arm puncher. If you see Tyson throw a punch and then look at how Foreman threw his you would see flat out that Foreman threw his punches wrong and how Tyson got everything he could into his punches but yet Foreman still punched alot harder.
Oops and back to you for one bit Slipx Foreman in his prime came in a great shape physically but as you know being a shipe and being in boxing shape is two different things. In his prime you could see he was heavly muscled but not to the extent of Norton but you could still see the man took care of his body .And if you would like slipx i could find the website i read this from and either send it to you in a private message or whatever. It has alot of stuff people think they know about Foreman but are wrong.Comment

I haven't read many of the posts, but I think our good friend catskills was questioning something.
Some of you need to get of Foreman's foreskin (God! I ALWAYS WANTED TO SAY THAT.)...Comment

hmm
If you've ever seen a Foreman fight, then you know he is an arm-puncher. Shouldn't really be that big of a surprise, really. He KTFO of Frazier with arm punches, and his KO of Moorer was basically an arm-punch as well, just well-timed and accurate.Comment
