I'm not worried about the "over"... the advantage he has is that he can easily make the under and forces the other guy to make some weight he normally doesn't make.

    Look at the Cotto fight.
Yeah, but it sounds like you're mad at the catch weight, which I get.

I don't understand how someone can be mad at him for weighing less, though.

It seems like some of these guys would be mad if there was no catch weight and he still weighed in at 144.6.

And people try deny he is the catchweight king? That is a joke and any real fan of the sport won't deny that....

I won't be watching this fight, I was rooting for him to beat Plastercheato but honestly now I hope he gets KTFO...

But, people right now are not complaining about the catch-weight.

They're complaining that Pac weighed in at 144. Which is ****** thing to complain about.

To complain about the catch-weight, fine I can see. To complain about Pac weighing in at 144 is idiotic.

I dont care about what people on here complain about. All I want to know was if Ray Robinson had to cut weight instead of coming in at the weight limit of their bout.

If Manny doesn't wanna put on weight cause he thinks it'll slow him down, cool. But why make Margs cut 4 extra pounds and lose possible power? That's my beef with this.

And for the record, I want Manny to win, I just don't like how this fight is actually gonna go down in history as a championship fight

              Why?
Well, if it wasn't at a catchweight, then it would be acceptable. Even at that his weight falls way below the parameters of the jr. middleweight division. The TS and myself are trying to highlight how Pac's weigh-in weight is a glaring example of why this title shouldn't be on the line. It's clear that he can't make the division, so why does he have the luxury of fighting for its title? The catchweights are a disgrace and pad his so-called "record" in boxing.

The thread starter is complaining that Pacquiao not bulking up and keeping his speed is unfair, but I don't see how that can be considered as "cheating". As said, there are no limits to how little you can weigh, only to how much.
I've recently just learned that. Thats insane though because like I said, doesn't that put the fighter's health at risk, facin' someone who's so much bigger? I mean look at how Gamboa handled Mtagwa (If thats how you spell his name).

That's what the problem is with this fight. Why should you be able to fight for a vacant title in a division that you've never fought at before, let alone even weighed in within the actual fighting weight.

If Margarito was the defending champion then it would be a legit title fight. But he's not.
Because the title organization wants to get a piece of the action that this fight will make. It's as simple as that. The fight would go on regardless of the title being on the line or not.

he's fighting a guy that weights 10 lbs heavier than he is and at 150 at that

last time i check, catch weights apply to weight maximum not minimum.

if this is a gimick to hate, just stop because you're making this forum dumber than it already is
