This is the start and the end of the argumeny right here. FOY will always go to a 3-0 fighter over a 2-0 one, though I'll feel bad for Corrales if he pulls off the second win because it will be two years in a row when he will be close but not quite enough for this honour.

In an earlier thread about this topic I figured Jermain would get it if he beat Hopkins in the rematch but I think that's out the window not because of the controversial nature of the first fight. Even a convincing second win probably won't do it for him.

Lacy has an outside shot as well but most writers will probably think of Floyd first when it comes time to name names.

If Chico wins, maybe. But Castillo isn't getting fighter of the year by going 1-1 just because the fights were exciting.
