This is the start and the end of the argumeny right here. FOY will always go to a 3-0 fighter over a 2-0 one, though I'll feel bad for Corrales if he pulls off the second win because it will be two years in a row when he will be close but not quite enough for this honour. -
I think I agree with this guy for the most part.Originally posted by TheEvilSaintnot corrales (cheaters dont deserve to be Fighter of the Year).
if floyd beats judah, yes.
rahman has had only one fight this year and hes a joke, so no.
calvin brock, no.
jermain taylor, no.
jeff lacy, if he beats joe cal, yes.
winky wright, one fight this year, no. his next match has to be a super match.
judah, if he beats PBF, yes.
as for tarver, only two fights this year (RJJ included), no.Comment

In an earlier thread about this topic I figured Jermain would get it if he beat Hopkins in the rematch but I think that's out the window not because of the controversial nature of the first fight. Even a convincing second win probably won't do it for him.
Lacy has an outside shot as well but most writers will probably think of Floyd first when it comes time to name names.Comment

If Chico wins, maybe. But Castillo isn't getting fighter of the year by going 1-1 just because the fights were exciting.Originally posted by GonzaloI say whoever wins in the Castillo-Corrales rematch deserves to be fighter of the year.Comment
