I thought he won the first three rounds, and the last 3 rounds.

The entire fight blew goats. One of the worst fights I've seen in a while.

Maybe for PPV main events; Fox Sports and ShoBox have had some duds, recently, but I keep tuning in because they often feature hidden gems

Monte didn't win the first three rounds, though...

        I think he did.

Rahman stalked, but didn't land anything of note.

You saw it different, I'm not looking to change your mind.

I thought the fight was a draw, and that it was a disgracful preformance by both fighters.

Best heavyweight fight of the year has been Brock vs. McCline. People seem to have overlooked that HW fight. The BoxingScene writer today talking about the Rahman/Barrett fight said that Barrett vs. Beck was the "only palatable fight featuring boxing's big men"...

so if don king is so set on a heavyweight tourney, what's stopping him from pitting ruiz, byrd, or brewster against eachother. hell, i've never even heard any of his current champs offcally out eachother. ONLY VK. why the stallin'?

Byrd and Brewster said they would only fight each other if all 4 belts were involved.

Ruiz has said he'll fight Byrd, but Don King has never signed it up.

I think putting the other 3 in a tournament but letting Vitali "off the hook" sends the message that he "gets a bye" which he hasn't earned. I'd like to see a heavyweight tournament, too. Here's how I would draw it up:

If they put me in charge, this entire tournament would go down in its entirety within 18 months -

              POOL A

              Bye - V. Klitschko/H.Rahman winner (WBC beltholder)

              Jameel McCline vs. Nicolay Valuev

              POOL B

Bye - L. Brewster (WBO beltholder)

              J. Toney vs. O.Beck/S.Lyakhovich winner

              POOL C

Bye - C. Byrd (IBF beltholder)

              C. Brock vs. W. Klitschko

              POOL D

Bye - J. Ruiz (WBA beltholder)

              S. Peter vs. L. Krasniqi

POOL A winner vs. POOL B winner
POOL C winner vs. POOL D winner

Winners of two pools fight for the undisputed title & Ring belt

By then, someone who lost early might have picked up another win or two and positioned themselves for another shot...

No they won't. There is no way any of them can beat the unsinkable Ruiz.

"Unsinkable" is certainly a better nickname than "The Quiet Man"

                  "UNSINKABLE" JOHN RUIZ

Unsinkable is more accurate than the quiet man. Ruiz just wont go away.
