corrales was killing himself to make weight..castillo beat floyd..baldomir lol mosely is just as faded as roy and didnt deserve to be labeled as number 1 welter at the time..ricky hatton who was beat by collazo and knocked silly by pacs roided ass..literally ran from oscar for 9 rounds before he decided to start fighting who was a part time fighter at that point and didnt beat any one at the elite level in yrs *****Floyd beat the number 1 130lber in corrales. The #1 lightweight in castillo number#1 WW in baldomir/shane mosley #1 JWW in ricky hatton(granted at ww) and beat the #1 JMW in Oscar. Manny beat david diaz, a faded cotto(at catchweight), and is fighting a ****ty marg in a made up division thats closer to WW than JWW.
Floyd>Manny and i have a case for it, not just talkin out my ass
david diaz was a fight to get an east belt..cotto isnt faded just cuz he lost a fight to margs...but he also beat marquez in his natural weight and hatton who was bigger in his natural weight clottey whos a lhw on fight night at his natural weight..he was calling out cheato after he beat oscar and this was when the master of plaster was riding hight off beating cotto...as much as you love floyd besides beating old oscar and shane from 140+ he didnt do much...me>manny>floydComment

how come everything back then was better?
how come?
how come i can find a new york artist that can recreate the mona lisa or a rembrandt then pay them to paint something more complex yet the mona lisa or rembrandt will still be held in a higher regard?
TO PRESERVE HISTORY.
If you go through EVERY SINGLE FREAKING SPORT, its greatest participants have always come in the modern era.
from bob cousy to bill russell to wilt to dr j to bird & magic to mj...
from jesse owens to carl lewis to usain bolt...
from otto graham to johnny unitas to joe montana to payton manning...
from rod laver to bjorn borg to pete sampras to roger fedrer...
just go through every sport, its greatest participants have always come in modern times...
except boxing. i wonder why?
Golden Age of boxing = 40s,50s,60s = unathletic white guys, with little athleticism, black athletes denied title shots/robbed of title fights, & the mafia fixing fights.
Go sip on your apple sauce rado & reminisce.Comment

Nah... Floyd resume at 130-135 and with his win over Mosley(which kills me that he really doesn't get credit for) is much better than Hopkins whole career. However, if B-hop beats Pascal then a case can seriously be made IMO.
I can't see how anybody can have B-Hop over Roy Jones. I just don't see it.
same here bro...i know roy didnt always fight the best of the best but he did fight a ****load of talented fighters....since bhop moved up in weight hes been beating a bunch of mw at lhwComment

Interesting to see the *******s stand by Manny but when Floyd said it lol , ***en pathetic the double standards on this board , Pac should be thinking it just as Floyd is thinking it , they both said it so what , thats what makes them champions , but the fanboys slag one while proping the other for doing the same **** is a idolism at its worst. .Comment

you obviously lack depth perception skills if you took manny seriously & cant tell the difference when manny said it & when floyd says it.Interesting to see the *******s stand by Manny but when Floyd said it lol , ***en pathetic the double standards on this board , Pac should be thinking it just as Floyd is thinking it , they both said it so what , thats what makes them champions , but the fanboys slag one while proping the other for doing the same **** is a idolism at its worst. .Comment

Because Floyd said it heartily, even downplaying the achievements of the truly all-time greats.Interesting to see the *******s stand by Manny but when Floyd said it lol , ***en pathetic the double standards on this board , Pac should be thinking it just as Floyd is thinking it , they both said it so what , thats what makes them champions , but the fanboys slag one while proping the other for doing the same **** is a idolism at its worst. .
Find a better video to bash Pac. This one's not worth it. What Pac said playfully could cause death by hatred and envy.Comment

Neither Duran nor Ali are in contention among boxing historians for the #1 spot. Ray Robinson is almost universally regarded as the #1. Some historians regard Greb as #2, some Armstrong. The highest you'll see Ali in respectable lists is #4, and he is often outside the top 5. The highest you'll see Duran is #7.
Talking of losses though, Duran had some bad ones too, most notably Kirkland Laing, but also a devastating knock-out loss to Hearns. The "no mas" counts against him as well.
And you can say that Young deserved to get the decision against Ali, but to say he got it when he didn't is just silly.
Hey Dave....where in my post do i mention my viewpoint on Ali vs Duran is for the number one spot all time?? Nowhere....so i'm wondering why you would assume that!Comment

Revisionist bull**** history at it's finest. Corrales was so weight drained against Floyd, yet he beat Casamayor at 130 some 5 or 6 fights after that??
Also he had the master himself as his conditioning coach in ALEX ARIZA!!! Guess Alex hadn't figured out the optimum mix for his special blend a that particular time?.....eh ******
