For one thing, a million dollars is a lot of money to you and me, but is less than 1/20th of what Floyd earned in his last fight. If he retired for good now, he could live a lifestyle that you and I can only imagine for the rest of his life.

Marciano retired when he did because he felt he would lose sooner or later if he kept going, and he was happy with what he had achieved. He turned down enormous pay days to come back from retirement. Same was true for Lennox Lewis. Marquez turned down a big pay day to rematch Pac immediately after their first fight, because he thought he was being offered less than he was worth, and his pride was hurt. Hopkins turned down the biggest pay day of his career to rematch Jones in 2002 for similar reasons.

The fact is that so far, Floyd has turned down the biggest pay day of his career to fight Pac. What his motives are and who is really to blame are a matter of opinion and conjecture, and I can't be bothered to go into my views on that in this thread as it's off topic and is getting boring, but you can't deny that for whatever reason, he has turned it down so far.

Money isn't most people's only motivation for living, as you pretend. It's an important motivation for most people, up to a point, but is far from being most people's over-riding one, and is certainly not their sole one.
You nailed it, then completely missed the point.

His post was likely as tongue-in-cheek as mine was. I fought fire, with fire..... my post was intended to sound ridiculous.

Any chance I can borrow your pink tutu? I've put on a few pounds, mine doesn't fit me anymore
