Amir sounds very confident about December 11th. He always performs outstanding in the month Decmeber, btw. I can't wait.

What makes Khan think that Floyd would fight him and in England no less? I like Amir's skills but he is feeling himself a bit too much without have really accomplished anything yet.

Amir Kahn is so wrapped up in his own hype that he continually contradicts himself and seems delusional at times when he speaks. Some points to be made from his interview:
1) No matter how Amir words it, he wasn't "doing everything he could" to make the fight w/Maidana. He wants us to forget that this fight probably wouldn't even be happening (because Maidana "priced himself out of the fight") except for the fact that Maidana went so far as to demand a purse bid and the purse bid was approved. Funny how quickly Kahns team then agreed to go ahead and sign to fight AFTER a purse bid was ordered (because Amir could have ended up having to fight for far less had the bid gone through). HE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO FIGHT MAIDANA SOONER OR LATER... unless he could get it to appear that Maidana would not agree to terms to fight, and that didn't happen, period.
2) The reason this fight is in the U.S. is because of his PROMOTER. Schaeffer wanted this fight in the States, Schaeffer pushed for this fight to be in the States, and Schaeffer got the fight in the States. To my knowledge Maidana never refused to fight Amir anywhere, and again, Amir is twisting the facts around to try to make himself seem noble.
3) Amir also wants us to forget that his choice was to fight JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ. Twice Team Kahn tried to convince JMM to fight, twice JMM refused to be underpaid and be a stepping stone for Kahns future. That's the fight we would be seeing in December had JMM not also "priced himself out of a fight." HAHA! But, Amir STILL wants us to give him credit for stepping up to fight Maidana (*cough* only after the purse bid was ordered *cough*).
4) Kahn says in this interview, "...the reason we took on Malignaggi instead of Maidana in May was because Maidana was unknown in America... but he's become more well known and a bigger name - it makes more sense to fight now then it did before." Maidana became a bigger name in America since May, because he fought Chop Chop Corley in Argentina??!? C'mon Amir...
5) Amir has told the press on several occasions that "Maidana is better than Bradley and Alexander." and that he is "taking on #1 straight away". Now he says that Maidana is "not a bad fighter" and will be a "good warm up fight" for Bradley, who Kahn thinks will be "a similar fight to Maidana". Everyone who thinks fighting Bradley will be "similar" to fighting Maidana, please raise your hand... That's what I thought too. I think Kahn is in a dream world.
I still believe that IF Kahn gets past Maidana he'll end up skipping a fight with Bradley, citing that there would be no need to fight him because he's already beaten the "#1 guy".
Before anyone tells me to "stop *****ing", just know that I'm just pointing out some facts here. It doesn't mean that I don't think Kahn has talent, and he obviously has a good chance of beating Maidana come December. But Kahn continually puts the cart before the horse. He comes off as living in a fantasy land because he's already talking about a huge fight in England with Floyd Mayweather, and he's barely scratched the surface of his own division. He acts like he should already get credit for beating everyone in the 140pd division already and half of the 147pd division just for taking on a fighter he was always supposed to fight. Just get through your fight with Maidana first Amir, and then you can dream about trying to beat the true #1 guy in your division... Tim Bradley. Stop patting yourself on the back for things you haven't even done yet.
/Rant.

And I do agree that it is a little ignorant to post on a thread when you have not even taken the time to read the article, or the comments made by the users who invested their time by reading article..... so I will take an uppercut on the chin, if I am due one.
I am trying to like Khan, he could be the goods if the glass-jaw thing is proven incorrect. But.....
Strategy for Maidana.....
* Make sure that he does not hit me.
Strategy for Floyd.....
* Maker sure that he has retired by the time I move up
jks
