It wasn't enough that Cotto was wounded Manny wanted to handicap him and Cotto allowed him to. Donny did win the Lt-Heavy-wt title legitimately but here you have Manny fighting for a title that neither he nor Cheato deserves so cut the BS comparisons.
    LOL @ the ..........

One catchweight fight, two titles. Effecient.........Some say he roided too, but that's debatable.

Did Cotto make excuses? Well, his detractors are, fo sure. He was fine w/ the catchweight, like JMM was. Juan actually accepted a bribe to increase the catchweight.

So Lalonde was smallish, huh? Marquez was too. Same sentence? Did Ray make Donny come down to drain him? Oh the sacrilege.... Nope?

Admit it. Pac is great in the same vein as Leonard, well maybe not that effecient, in doing catchweights...............LOL

Say what you want Ray fought the best at their best now go over Manny's record. Manny would have never beaten Corrales@130 or Castillo@135. Dude ducked over the whole light-wt division. They weren't beat down enough. Manny couldn't even take out Larios and he was coming off a KO loss. Many's career is full of big names past their primes. Face it.

Cotto still thinks he's undefeated so that explains his thinking. Lalonde fought a few times @168 before fighting Ray and had no problem going down in weight so yes he was a smallish Lt-Heavy. Marquez was chasing Manny and thought he could beat Floyd to force a 3rd fight with Manny so he called Floyd out and Floyd obliged then did the same thing to Shane. Ray Leonard at that time was trying to out do Hearns by winning the most titles in different divisions but Ray knew he didnt have the size to really fight @ 175. Let's deal with the facts:

Manny's biggest controversy free wins were against Barrera and Morales which he was fortunate to get them while they were beating the hell out of each other. We all know what happened with the Marquez fights then the circus began. I won't even put this BS next to Ray Leonard's record cause it would be a ****ing joke. Even when you put it against Floyd's you'll see:
          • Genaro Hernandez title win in PBF's 2nd year as a pro
          • Undefeated champion, 6 foot KO artist Corrales
          • Castillo twice@135
          • Corley and Gatti@140
          • Judah, Mosley & Marquez @147
          • & Oscar @ 154

Manny is fighting beentheres and hasbeens when he should fought Shane when he was begging for a fight and a long list of much more deserving fighters then Cheato.

whaaaaaa the cry baby "fans" strike again

All the morons complaining about catch weights need to touch up on their history. First of all they've been around for decades, there not going anywhere nor should they go anywhere. It's pretty simple to understand, fighters weigh different amounts. Sometimes the best fighters are fighting at different weight classes, and the public wants to see them fight. They agree on a weight, the lil dude adds some pounds, the big dude sheds some and they meet in the middle. What doesn't make sense about that? Would you like it better if they just never fought at all? I mean come on, it's hard enough to get these guys to move up cause it's so ****ing dangerous, one loss and most of the know nothing fans assume they are finished and they have to battle just to get a second shot. Let the dudes fight, all these weight classes and maximum weight limits are man made, they didn't come from god. Who gives a damn about some bull**** belt? It's ****ing 2010, name one belt thats worth getting your panties in a bunch.....that's what I thought. The ONLY thing that matters is this: the best need to fight the best, period. I don't care how u make it happen, boxing is about boxing, I wanna see a great fight. If the two guys getting in the ring agree on a weight, the "fans" and I use that term lightly, should chill the **** out, grab some popcorn and watch somebody get ktfo. If the fighters are cool with it, that should be the end of it? Just get in the ring and lets get it on, piss on the weight agreement, piss on the ever unimportant "belt", and most of all piss on the losers who find something to ***** and moan about nomatter what's going on. This is boxing, not *****ing

these two great trainers do.....and I am glad that people that are critical about it doesn't have control or mandate in boxing world otherwise boxing would have been dead long time ago...some people are just ******..

Catchweights have been around for decades. That part is true. However, usually, when there is a catchweight fight, it is because one fighter is moving up to fight a champion in a higher division and they fight at a catchweight so the fight will be contested evenly. Example: the 140 champion fights the 147 pound champion at 143.

The problem with the catchweight fights that Pac has been involved in is that he uses catchweights to weaken his opponents and give himself an advantage. I am sure all the Pac worshippers have forgotten or will deny this, but Pac originally wanted Cotto to come down to 143 to fight him. Cotto refused to go below 145. Cotto moved to 147 because he had trouble making 140. Pac knew that and wanted to weaken him. He demanded Margarito come down to 150 because he knew that Margarito would be much stronger if they fought at the 154 pound limit. What Pac is doing is the equivalent of demanding a 10 meter headstart in a 100 meter race.

I'd rather be the one with the loses; because all the ATG's had loses. And they all battled back to make (to stake) there names in the HOF of boxing by winning and showing everyone that they still have what it takes to themselves great. You think PBF will be known as a ATG? I don't think so, he maybe a good boxer; but PBF will never be known as a great fighter. Skills does pay the bills, but how would you know if you have the skills if you don't test yourself by fighting bigger, stronger fighters? When your just protecting that "0."

                      And that compares to Floyd's?
