I understand the weight limit is 154, my whole thing is since its a title fight for the 154 belt, why not let these fighters come in any weight as long as its between 148 and 154? why dictate the weight and the hydration weight? I dont get that. And so what hearns and sugar did it....does that make it right??

Just because Freddy said it..doesn't make it so.

Manny said himself that the catch weight gives him an edge over Margarito. If the CW didn't matter then why request it? They requested it because anytime you're training to drop pounds you are weakening yourself. But when you can train without trying to lose weight you stay strong. Many of you have obviously never dieted to lose weight. The aim is to weaken your opponents.

            That's not true

Fight night weights are contracted as well...by top rank.

Do you think Cotto weighed 160 in the ring with Manny like he NORMALLY does????

Compare Cotto in the Judah fight to the Manny fight.

Cotto was CLEARLY bigger against Judah.

They know what you're saying is true...they just don't refuse to admit it.

                catch weight

                Does weight really matter?
Sonny Liston was too heavy, to big, and too powerful for Cassius Clay (aka M
                Ali), so is George Foreman.

*** all the spin and BS cheerleading you clowns are doing. If catchweights are not that big of a deal then why ask for them in the 1st place?
