No doubt he could. I wouldn't give it to him everytime, but 3 out of 5.

The knockdown against Hopkins was just the timing of the punch with Calzaghe's stance when he caught it, nothing to do with punch-resistance issues.

Against Jones, he caught a heavy forearm in the face and didn't see it coming, but showed immediate recovery powers and ****** up every other big shot Roy hit him with in the fight.
Ward is faster then both of them fool at there age and has better reflexes then them an hit harder then B-Hop not Roy. N my piont is he was dropped by 2 40+ year olds, Cal has never really fought any1 that could test him, only fighter i give him credit for beating was Kessler but he wasnt all that to me either.

What has the bold to do with Calzaghe's punch-resistance?

Ward doesn't hit like a Roy Jones Jr. forearm in the face and Calzaghe was never hurt by Hopkins. I don't think Ward would land enough shots of sufficient power to hurt Joe. He could conceivably drop him if he timed a punch and caught Joe coming in right as Hopkins did, but that would have little to do with Calzaghe's chin, more his stance.

Hopkins did test him. I was worried Joe lost that fight before the scores were announced, and was kind of disappointed because I'd wanted him to make a more definite impression on his American debut. I knew Hopkins would be awkward, but I honestly expected Joe to box smarter - he looked like crap.

        Fool.

It's amazing that only a handful of people r giving Ward a chance when Calzaghe never faced anyone like Ward, other than Hopkins, who spanked him pretty good. It don't matter how u thought won, Calzaghe got spanked Hopkins got outworked.

Truth is Ward is a faster, more versatile hopkins. He may not have the experience, and he may not have the power, but for a guy with 21 fights, he's done pretty well for himself. He's not even in his prime, and he's already considered one of the best around.

The Calzaghe from a few years ago gives Ward a helluva beating.

The "headbutts" stuff is corny. Ward's fists are what beat Kessler, repeatedly, in the face. YOU chat rubbish. Quit bumsniffing Gorilla Dogs and actually watch the guys you're talking about.

I'm a huge fan of Froch, but Ward will have him in his pocket all night. Abraham I give more of a shot because of his one-punch threat, but I don't fancy his chances much, either.

Anyway, how come you haven't brought your Hatton >>> Cotto agenda to NSB, homer?
A poster on here once said Ward is slow and a face first brawler, true story. I can't remember who it was though.

I course he would have, Ward is better at his young age than Calzaghe ever was.

Ward gives him a masterfull beating, just like he did Kessler and Green.

Imagine Calzaghe fighting both Sakio Bika and Hopkins together, in one ring, that's what he'll be facing in Ward.

                      Both fighters gave him fits.

Ward will send a prime Calzaghe packing into an early retire with 20 grams of ******* just for good measure.
