of course ward could beat him. calzaghe was good but he is kind of overrated. people saying that calzaghe would outwork him r kinda ******ed because wards whole game is to outwork his opponent.Comment

i think we have to live with the fact that calzaghe was simply unbeatable(greatest of all time?). he will always throw more punches and that's an automatic win no matter who he's facing or if he's even landing. if you throw more you are the weiner!Comment

Calzaghe would win. I'm not very impressed with Andre Ward's defense. I think it has flaws somebody on the level of Calzaghe and expose. Calzaghe is much better than Green and Kessler too.Comment

Prehurting his hands Joe probably KO's Ward early. Joe was a big puncher before his hands were gone and he might have wound up killing Ward in the ring.
After hurting his hands though I think Joe either wins a wide UD or a TKO 8th. Wards never been in a war like Calzaghe can bring. Ward would try to cheat, headbutt, etc...but he wouldnt get the respect that Hopkins did. Only reason Hopkins survived the Calzaghe fight was because the ref was wearing an executioner shirt underneath his ref outfit.Comment

Seeing what a great chin Calzaghe had, his amazing work rate, and he also had some decent punching power before he started having trouble with his hands i`ve no doubt he would have beaten Ward, also do you think Ward would have been able to get up off the floor if he had been hit with those shots that Mitchell hit Calzaghe with, not many boxers chins with have withstood being hit like that.Comment

which is exactly what ward can do. Just imagine if hopkins was younger and had more stamina & intensity.
i see ward doing the same type of thing about joe, making it an ugly dirty fight but the difference would be finishing hard unlike hopkins who ran out of steam in the late rounds.
Hopkins is much, much harder to hit and has better accuracy, timing etc!Comment
